What Inoue performances would you say are better than the Picasso fight

I think Fulton, Donaire 2 and Emmanuel Rodriguez are his 3 best performances. Outboxed the boxer in Fulton and then took him out, And quickly found the mark against capable opponents in Donaire and Rodriguez and blasted them out easily in 2 rounds.

 

I was most impressed by the Fulton fight, since Fulton was bigger and a skilled boxer.

But I wonder, at age 33 is Inoue past his best?

 

Picasso was one of his worst performances imo. I remember liking his Dipaen performance quite a bit. The Butler fight I also thought he looked particularly good in, just showing off his bag of tricks and flexing his slick defensive improvements. Fulton I'd say was his most clinical display overall, though.

 

Fulton. Before that, people were wondering if he could deal with a slick American boxer.

 

Slick American boxers with mediocre power is the easiest fight for him. His weakness is anyone who got pop with their left hook or someone rangy.

Against Picasso, Inoue let his guard down at times due to lack of respect and also frustration. He allowed Picasso to have some success in order to break through to him. Inoue did not do this with Akhmadaliev - it was a boxing master class, and Inoue showed every last skill in his arsenal in that fight.

Also, honorable mention to the Payano fight. Payano was not the greatest of boxers, but he was clearly world class at the time and also a sturdy little *******. Inoue mopped the canvas with him and made Payano look like a bum.

 

Fulton in some circles was expected to box Inoue’s ears off.
