Inoue is 34 and failed to KO his last 3 opponents will he be washed against Bam like Canelo was ?

Inoue has no power. None.

 

Ive been saying this for years.

 

I mean a drastic decline is possible but I wouldn't bet on it.

 

I fear the exact same thing is going to happen. Prime inoue murks bam at any weight class though

 

I find that when I do that, eventually I'm proven right, about power, chins, bankruptcies, whateverz.

 

No surprise that Bam is trying his best to age Inoue out.

 

Two things, first, in comparing Canelo's situation to Inoue there are a few key differences. Canelo had noticeably declined by the time he fought Terence Crawford. Alvarez was already a shell of himself and in his bout with William Scull he was a slow, plodding boxer lacking the singular power shots he had previously used so successfully.

Monster on the other hand, while certainly not being as dominant as he once was, has another big factor besides age that is effecting his performances. He has already moved up four weight classes from his original world title as a junior flyweight. Since moving to 122 he has gone the distance more often and been knocked on his butt a couple of times. That being said, no one has come close to beating him. I am sure some of his decline is due to age but I am pretty sure more of it is related to the fact he has reached his limit of P4P greatness at 122. This doesn't man he couldn't win a featherweight belt but he would not be a great at that weight. It needs to be remembered that Manny Pacquiao was a unicorn and Inoue has been about as great as anyone could be who started at 108 pounds.

Second, everyone is talking about Bam Rodriguez fighting Inoue in his next bout. How about if we be a little more realistic and cut the man some slack. This was his first fight at 118 and everyone is already talking about him moving up to 122. Inoue had nine fights at bantamweight before moving up to 122. Other than money there is absolutely no reason Rodriguez should be fighting at 122 in his next fight. Let's give him a bit of time to adjust to the new weight class. The unfortunate side effect of that is that Inoue will be older by then and if Bam somehow won people will say he aged Monster out. The reality is that staying at 118 for a while is the right thing for Rodriguez to do regardless of who is waiting at 122.

 

I wonder if inoue vs bam could be at 118. No idea how hard it is for inoue to make weight now that he is at 122 and whether he could just make 118 as well

 

Good question. I would think he could make 118, but it would be a question as to how difficult it would be.

 

Bam, yet another great American hope that's going to get detonated by Inoue. I like Bam, I think he's one of the best technical fighters in the sport, but if Estrada had him on the floor, Inoue is going to put him to sleep, he's too small. Put Bam in with Junto and Takuma first, I don't think he gets past both of them, never mind Inoue.

 

Or simply he moved up weight classes.

 

The problem for Inoue is that he's actually entering into territory now where the fighters start to look like men. 122 to 126 is about the point where the fighters stop looking like women and begin to look like men. Albeit still very tiny men. He would be wise to avoid moving up any further and he should be more careful about his matchmaking.

 

Inoue and decline do not belong together......................he's still dominating opposition.
