If all 4 met on the same night at Middle weight, how would the final results look. Maybe. Hagler 3 wins (Leonard,Hearns,Duran) Hearns 1 win (Duran) Leonard 2 wins (Hearns,Duran) Duran 0 wins
Assuming they're all their best versions at middleweight, such as Duran (Hagler fight), Hearns (Shuler fight), Hagler (Minter fight), Leonard (Hagler fight), then imo the results would be like this. Hagler: 3 wins (Duran, Hearns, Leonard) Hearns: 2 wins (Duran, Leonard) Leonard: 1 win (Duran) Duran: 0 wins Though Duran could pull a victory over this version of Leonard imo. However, if somehow we add in a hypothetical version of Leonard fighting at middleweight, such as a slightly heavier version of the one that beat Kalule or Geraldo, then imo the results would be. Hagler: 3 wins (Duran, Hearns, Leonard) Leonard: 2 wins (Duran, Hearns) Hearns: 1 win (Duran) Duran: 0 wins Though Hearns could beat Leonard, as I always thought he was a better middleweight and junior middleweight than Leonard.
Well then, I'm absolutely certain Hagler destroys the second two fighters he faces and I'm pretty convinced Tommy isn't invited back for the second fight
No I just think that's the type of scenario where being bigger, tougher with great cardio is king - more than skill or other types of talent. If it were three or five rounds, I'd probably have picked Leonard.
Yep I get that. If it was like those exhibition type, six round fights, then Leonard could definitely have done great. Over 15 ... not sure.
on most nights Hearns has 2 wins and loses to Hagler. 2-1 Hagler could drop one to any of the 3 but I think he's likely to go 3-0 Leonard would beat Duran, 50/50 Hearns and likely lose to Hagler, but could go 3-0 technically, likely 2-1 or 1-2. and Duran would have to work hard to get a win, likely 0-3 or 1-2.
You have a great knowledge boxing, you will know it's also about timing of fights. Hagler to get the coin he rightly deserved as a guy that was nearing the end of his career, sadly gave up two major factors v SRL, ring size the other was totally self inflicted, the judges. His managers the Pertonelli's didn't want Harry Gibbs UK ref as judge he got pulled guy who replaced him called the fight for SRL and pretty wide iirc. TV station UK ITV hired Gibbs to judge it in the studio away from anyone headphones on he had Hagler winning by a couple!
I'm a Hagler fan, my favourite boxer so I'm a bit biased but a career MW against guys that were at their best at various other weights? Hagler beats them all at peak.
