For sure, maybe he'd get even less of a build up against contenders than he did in his own time before his inevitable title shot if he falls into Rickard and Kearns' hands. Just feed him old Brennan and old Willard and we've got ourselves a no. 1 contender. He and Dempsey would be a barn burner, fights against prime Wills and Tunney would be interesting as well. I think he'd clear through anyone else.
