This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected Bit of a **** show in the lead up. For those who aren't aware, Oscar Collazo, the unified champion at strawweight was supposed to face Joey Canoy this Saturday. Unfortunately Canoy couldn't get his visa and the fight was called off. Neider Valdez, a fringe contender was called in the last minute to save the entire card. Even though this was sanctioned by the WBO (WBA refused to acknowledge this for their title) and is considered a title fight, both fighters technically missed weight, yet Collazo wasn't stripped of the belt. Like how, talk about some BS. Not only that, but this dude is doing everything in his power to duck Pedro Taduran. He called out Kuse, yet Kuse is contractually obliged to face Jerusalem next in a trilogy match. Overall a really lame situation. Then again, most stuff in boxing is wack.
I still think Taduran ****s up Collazo. He's been talking a lot about moving up and fighting Sandoval. I really don't think he wants that smoke and I have no idea why he's ranked P4P. He's talented and flashy, no doubt, but his resume is pretty thin with the exceptions of Knockout CP Freshmart, who was fairly long in the tooth, and Melvin Jerusalem.
Bit of a bootleg version of Bam Rodriguez. To be honest, I don't even fancy his chances against the guys at 108.
I agree. For as fancy as his footwork is and for as creative as his punching is, there is a serious air of fragility surrounding Collazo. He's been dropped a couple of times against guys who really aren't known for being punchers. There's at least a handful of guys at 108 that should be favoured over him, and that's before even considering how he'd fare against Taduran if he really wants to go undisputed.
What an absolute shitshow. Can Collazo just rehydrate a bit to hit over 108, weigh in again, and they fight a non-title fight at flyweight?
Im not one to throw around the word duck, but what do you mean wait? Not like there's anyone else around waiting and Jerusalem has been beaten unless he wants to fight Kuse first when Taduran has been calling him out since forever
