Hes in the top 30

At the end of the day the size gives him a big head start when you talk about him vs a lot of the older heavyweights pre 1970

He has enough skill and power to beat most of the previous champions

Resume and accomplishment wise it might be a different story

 

h2h will take into account his size and strength. guys of this era are used to it, and often a similar size. Go back a bit though and AJ is an absolute colossus, which would help him beat plenty of guys that he is less skilled than.

which is maybe why h2h rankings are a dumb way to compare eras.

 

I rank him somewhere around 25 to 29.

So he makes it in to the top 30.

 

He may well be top 20 H2H due to the combination of size + athleticism + power + decent skill. Getting to 22-0, 21 KO's with wins over Wlad, Povetkin, Whyte and Parker was a very good run.

 

Guys from the next era like Surov and Itauma will probably push him out of the top 20/25
