Zhilei Zhang against Dave Allen in September

Yeah I heard him say something like that
I didn't pay too much attention as its not happening but now you mention it, it was quite strange

Zhang I don't think is gonna fight again unless he gets a crazy offer
Word is he is minted and enjoying running restaurants

I don't think this Dave Allen thing has any legs

This fight was rumoured long time ago, do we have any confirmation it's actually going down?

 

This is becoming like some sort of sick joke now. Has Dave Allen been doing Eddie Hearn's wife or something? Why does he hate him so much?

I seriously don't get what's going on here. It's not like Allen is a Chisora type who will give it everything he's got and make sure the higher-level fighter has to work to get the win.

Why the hell does he keep getting put in with these level of opponents even though he is constantly, so obviously outclassed? It's seriously worrying and dangerous to keep doing this. This guy's BEST win is Lucas Browne.

He should be nowhere near this level of opponent. I actually enjoy watching his fights when he fights someone at domestic level... the two fights against Fisher were fun. I wouldn't even begrudge him a shot at the British title, even though I don't think he has much of a chance of even beating Riakporhe.

I agree with what someone said above... if you want to make some money, fight Jake Paul or go to Misfits or something. Tommy Fury's never been good enough either but he's smart enough to realise that and he's only taking those kinda fights nowadays.

 

Why does Allen keep getting these ridiculous mismatch fights?

 

i understand why daves taking these big fights (money) but for love of god why would promoters or fans be wanting to invest in this match up after his last two big outings?

just give dave his chance at the british title and call it a day.

He was at least competitive with Big Makh. The Hrgovic fight was ridiculous. How do you lose to Makhmudov then fight a guy against whom Makhmudov would be lucky to win 1-2 rounds?

and this? Jeez. I guess if Dave can avoid being hit by Zhang for 4-5 rounds, maybe he can try to make something happen?

 

Even when trying to bring up zhangs gas tank its still just wishful thinking imo. Kabayel & Parker were legit top 10 heavyweights when they fought Zhang. Something dave just isn't and it will be shown if this fight happens.

dave better pray zhang has been smoking 12 packs a day since the kabayel lose for any possible chance to win.

 

Zhang could stand still and tee off for 20 rounds. Allen isn’t going to make him work

Hopefully for Allen’s sake he chins him early.

Zhang has his flaws at world level but for me is the biggest puncher in the division

what’s the point of this one? The Hrgovic fight was ridiculous but I understood the point — Dave gets a nice payday to set up Hrgovic for the Ituama fight. This one, there’s no point.

 

He can sell tickets.

which is why he should try for the British title, if he comes up short, then just go to Misfits. He’d beat the everloving **** out of the guys they bring on there.

 

This fight ain’t happening. Dave has posted on insta he’s got a 50/50 lined up with Eddie Hearn.

 

Allen isn't world level, sadly and he doesn't need this fight. I don't want to see it. He was so outmatched vs. Hrgović that it really soured me on the idea of promoting him at this level ever again. If anything, Allen is a good barrier to get to the lesser world stage--his career shows more that Lucas Browne was way past it and that Fisher isn't the goods or even close to a top flight HW.
