Why wasn't Luis Ortiz a part of the wider Klitschko era ?

Absolutely hilarious take. Ortiz sucked and would have been a sitting duck for Wlad, Vitali, or dozens of others.

Ortiz would have never lost to bum Ross Puritty, beats Brewster, likely beats Nate Tubbs victim Sanders and of course AJ.

Ortiz was an avoided fighter well before he signed with PBC. I recall that ex-bouncer on Youtube gasman regarding Wlad-Ortiz as a 50-50.

Luis Ortiz had to come out of retirement to fight Deontay Wilder. The man was seventy-six years old! Ortiz always lied about his age! He lied about his age all the time!

One time, I met Shaquille O'neal, and said, "Shaq, you hang out with Luis Ortiz. Just between me and you, how old is he?" Know what Shaq told me? He said "Hey, Luis Ortiz is a hundred thirty-seven years old." A hundred and thirty-seven years old!

Ortiz could have fought Povetkin and cemented his legacy, but no.

How is Ortiz "Anyone of note"?

He lost to Deontay Wilder twice, who is barely holding on to being a top 10 HW of his generation.

For someone who you claim is so incredibly skilled, how on earth did Wilder find Ortiz's chin with such frequency? When he couldn't find the chin of a pretty limited Parker, on an immobile Zhang?

Apparently Wilder and Ortiz are the only fighters in boxing history who are immune to the effects of declining after multiple KO defeats and advancing age. This is the level of dishonesty we get from these easily-deluded fools.

Wilder was ranked in the top 4 for 9 straight years iirc. Parker doesn't eclipse him for catching him at 38 with one round completed in 25 months, coming off two brutal KO defeats prior to that.

Ortiz is of note because, for one thing, he was a ranked HW for the best part of a decade. Watch the Jennings tape, Ortiz was better than virtually all of Wlad's victims. Team Povetkin and AJ didn't want it for good reason.

He isn't. He probably wouldn't even be a Top 5 win for Wlad.

Ortiz was legit but he was already getting on in age when he came out of the closet and Wilder was lucky he has genuine one touch power back at that time or Ortiz would have wiped him..and was wiping him.

No one said Ortiz was an ATG. Hyperbole shouldn't be necessary to make your argument. My view is the same as everyone else's before Ortiz lost to Wilder: that Ortiz was a dangerous, heavily avoided top contender.

I regard Jennings as being of note. He was 6th ranked and had just gone the full 12 with Wlad, losing 116-111. The same Wlad who had just poleaxed Pulev in 5. The Wlad who would go on to give AJ a life and death 2 years later at 41.

Martin wasn't so notable but he was a titlist, with wins over Glazkov (inconclusive as it was) and Washington. He took Kownacki and Anderson the distance and won rounds. Yet twice KO'd, inactive, 42+ year old Ortiz got off the canvas twice to destroy him, in what was the best win of a HW of that age since Foreman beat Moorer, and still is.

It is also hard to beat big names if they will not fight you, or overwhelmingly won't fight you until you are 40+ and worn out. There are quotes from managers (Povetkin's) and fighters (Chisora, who will fight anyone for a decent payday) saying that Ortiz was high risk, low reward and they aren't interested.
