Why did young George Foreman look so big even at relatively low listed weights?

I mean, go check the rankings. He was #9, that's the reality.

 

Here's all the guys that keep him out of the top 10

Frazier
Norton
Bonavena
Lyle
Quarry
Shavers
Bugner
Clark
Middleton
etc, etc.

There were easily more than 8 guys better than him, probably 15 plus

 

You weren't the one who made the August 1973 rankings though, so who cares ?

Any sane person can look at the division and see there are more than 10 guys better than Roman

Like Pedro Agosto. Who was somehow unranked despite beating Roman

 

No worries, I forgot about Roman being ranked too.

 

Similar case to Otto Wallin being in the Top 10 in 2023.

 

I think Otto has a stronger case because his only loss prior was Fury. Going into the fight one could reasonably think he might be top 10.

Roman on the other hand has some really bad losses prior like Agosto and multiple guys I'd never heard of previously.

Because George Foreman is an unweighable mass that appears in human form only to blow his cover with superhuman strength and power. Hulk smash/its clobberin' time and the myth of Hercules were all based on historical tales of 'big' George. He is still expanding and weighing more becoming ever more dense after leaving his human form, his mass is all pervasive and has an omnipotent quality that is both reassuring yet strangely unnerving. It is only because George posseses such a gentle soul that his unfathomable power and size is not a danger to our very existence, an existential threat that would commit a catastrophic coup de grace out of spite and mercy on an unsuspecting, inward looking self obsessed humanity if such power was held by a lesser being. George is mass x weight x power x infinity and he always will be. God bless our saviour.

Foreman's size was deceptive but he was also 6'3/6'4 depending on who you believe. He actually made Gerry Cooney look frail when they fought each other.
