Sog Ward is time displaced in the 1940s and Joe Louis is champion can Ward with his evolved technique bulldoze through the division ?

No, but the Kova that beat SOG would rule that division.

Joe Louis, Ezzard Charles and Jersey Joe Walcott would all have a good shot against him.

That being said, he is a live underdog against them.

Yeah. This is not going to go well for him.

If by 40s you mean 1949 it will go alot better.

Ward wouldn't have SNAC, 8oz gloves & his home town edge? Hed have to travel & fight more regularly too.. different times.. harsher times.. the boxing framework then was far more taxing on a fighter. Ward was a bit of a boxing diva too & his demands wouldn't be feasible back then.. his dirty boxing wouldn't be as effective either as most fighters back then were wise to it & it was far more common. Historically i don't think Ward is a fighter who stacks up that well here..

If he doesn't teleport his steroids into the 40s - Ward wishes he hadn't teleported.

I tend to find this the most overlooked part of these fantasy scenarios

Fans act like the sport has evolved so much but I don't think these assessments factor in all the ways boxing was more difficult in the past

The best beat him. I doubt his hugging and billygoat tactics are going to work as well in a grittier era and over the course of 15 rounds.
