Thought he was in big trouble in the third, but apart from that, yep, good win. Plenty of big dogs at Junior Middle so he's in the right division to become great. Someone with more experience than Zayas & heavier hands may have been able to really tool him in that third round.
Yes he actually gets in to have a fight, which means he’ll take more punches. I have no problem with it, sick of these back foot fencing style fighters. It’s turned me off the sport I barely watch any boxing anymore, never again will I tune in for a Stevenson/Haney/Fury fight. Stinky
Ennis is definitely faster and will be getting off much quicker than Virgil. I'm just not so sure how he holds up though because there will be some vicious trading.
Not impressed at all. Broner 2.0. He'll be in exciting fights though so I'm looking forward to that. It does make sense now that he's been so protected and hasnt had a real fight in 40 fights at 29 years of age. Vergil stops him
People keep criticizing him for his defensive holes yet you have people hating on guys like Shakur or Haney for being overly defensive. At least Boots fights in an entertaining style and knocks his opponents out in brutal fashion. His aggression, power plus his vulnerability is what makes him fun to watch. Boots is yet another exciting Philly warrior in the veins of Joe Frazier, Matthew Saad Muhammad, Jeff Chandler, Meldrick Taylor. God bless them.
I don't believe he is some generational talent but I like him and think he's elite. I believe he was born in the wrong era as he looks more like a 90s/2000s fighter. Way more fun to watch than haney and shakur
