Boots Ennis vs Felix Trinidad, how would it play out ?

It would probably be similar to last nights fight but boots would play the role of Zayas

A tale of three fights. It looks like Tito vs Oscar early, turns into Tito vs Reid, and ends in Tito vs Blocker (at worst) or Joppy (at best).

 

Nice match up. Felix could get dropped early but I see him recovering and eventually catching up to Boots with a brutal left hook and then finishing him in the process.

Trinidad had fight-ending power in both hands and with a full arsenal, and he showed as much countless times. He was also insanely accurate, and in his youth he threw beautiful combinations.

The lack of boxing knowledge on this general forum never ceases to amaze me.

Trinidad was P4P #1 in an absurdly deep era. Boots isnt even top 3 P4P in an abysmal era.

Thats a huge exaggeration. But Trinidad was much better.

Boots had 1 "okay" win at WW and one "okay" win at JMW after he was almost stopped by someone with less than 50% KO.

The top 5 from every division are better than this Broner 2.0

 

You're being much too harsh. Boots is a helluva lot better than Broner.

But we all (save for one) seem to be in agreement that he wasnt on Trinidad's level.

Furthermore -- Crawford is hardly a lock over a prime Trindad. Bud's never faced anything on Tito's level. Canelo is old, and TBH Canelo's always been overrated. And Spence, even on his very best day isnt in Trinidad's class, much less a post-accident Spence.

A lot of you guys are far too prone to recency bias.

Since 2000, there are maybe 10-15 fighters who would've been successful across any era in boxing. Floyd, Manny, and Bud are in that list.

No. Boots is genuinely not good. Thats why he has done nothing at 40 fights. He literally has 4 or 5 championship fights in his entire career, after being gifted an email belt...in an era where there's 6-7 belts per weight class. Boots is a hypejob. Sorry you dont see it. You will though

 

Guys that beat Trinidad boxed him, used movement and a jab. Boots doesn't fight like that, he'd stand a trade and that only ends one way. I think with his speed and offence he could drop Trinidad early as Tito often started slow and was vulnerable early. But I see Trinidad landing a bomb at some point, he was too accurate and too powerful, you can't just stand and trade. Tito stops him.
