Why wasn't Luis Ortiz a part of the wider Klitschko era ?

The win over Whyte is probably better than any Wilder win. Certainly better than any Ortiz win

Are you talking Klitschko era as in Vitali and Wladimir or just Wladimir
Fury, Joshua and Wilder didn't really become main stream until very late on

Realistically Wladimir last fight was 2017 and Ortiz hadn't fought Wilder the first time at the time he retired
Wladimirs final successful defence was end of April 2015.
Ortiz although reasonably established probably wasn't widely known

 

I was talking about Ortiz, not Wilder. Clearly Wilder was better than Pov historically. But Povetkin was clearly better than Ortiz.

 

Wilder's best win is arguably better than Vitali's, Haye's and Povetkin's best win. Wilder also has the Fury draw, which none of Fury's opponents other than Usyk could equal or better, including Wlad.

Jennings' best win is Perez, who was a Ring top 10 ranked contender. He gave Wlad one of his best fights, Joyce his closest fight pre-Zhang, and also beat Dimitrenko, Szpilka, Fedosov and Liakhovich.

Many/most had Parker losing the first Chisora fight, it's not a feather in his cap. Parker has four losses as it stands, all in his prime, to AJ, Whyte, Joyce and Wardley. He had 2 defences to Wilder's 10. He has no impressive stoppages barring Bakole, which isn't impressive either because he was 310 lbs, one day notice, and had taken four flights to Saudi.

Ali was exposed by Holmes and Berbick as a D-level fighter, by this logic. Parker would have also schooled that version.

Regardless of any spin, Parker is Whyte-Chisora level and nothing more. He won't receive any major accolades when all is said and done and isn't a significant part of the story of the era.

 

Wilder had just blasted out Helenius, was ranked above Parker, and heavily favored to win when they fought.
None of those are comparable to Ali who hadn't won a fight in years prior to fighting Holmes and Berbick and never did anything subsequently

The subsequent win over Chisora is also among Wilders better wins despite Chisoras age

 

At 36, on a 14 win streak and very active, champion Ali lost to green 10/1 underdog journeyman-level Leon Spinks.

Wilder was 38, had less than 1 round of action in the previous 25 months, and was over 4 years removed from beating a ranked contender, with two brutal KO defeats in between.

Wilder was a spent force. He beat Chisora despite being shot because 1. the stylistic matchup was very favourable 2. Chisora was 42

 

Chisora still ranks among his best wins. Ortiz was also very old when he faced Wilder and is widely considered one of his best wins
The problem is you can dismiss Wilders earlier wins the same way you dismiss Chisora to argue he was never any good to begin with.

Ortiz is simply too unproven (and old) and Fury is too inconsistent for them to be good barometers of ability

 

Ortiz was ranked in the top 6 from 2015-2020. He was proven enough, and was avoided like the plague. Even at 43+, Ruiz barely scraped past him over 12. At 42+ he scored the best win for a HW of his age since Foreman beat Moorer.

Fury took Wilder seriously, more so in fight 1 than fight 3 too. He didn't see him as a Joey Abell or Wallin, and Fury was still champ 5.5 years later.
