IBF orders Frank Sánchez vs Moses Itauma for the vacant IBF Heavyweight Championship

Sanchez, in reality, is probably the same age as Itauma's grandfather.

He has also been stopped before too.

 

Good fight! We’re gonna find out what Itauma is really made over the coming months.

 

So, does that mean Hrgovic vs. Sanchez for the title?

Or does that mean Itauma is going to back out of the Hrgovic fight?

I'm just stoking the coals.

Part of me doesn't want this to happen because I want Sanchez to get a title shot to enhance Kabayels resume but Itauma would end him

 

I hope Itauma-Hrgovic gets cancelled, and we get Itauma-Sanchez and Hrgovic-Kabayel instead.

I just hope that Itauma vs. Hrgovic won't be canceled, but if it does happen, Itauma will crush Sanchez, Itauma is a higher level than Sanchez.

 

I would think Itauma would rather go for the WBA if he beats Hrgovic.. Gassiev seems a lot easier than Sanchez

 

I feel that a lot of people in here have overrated Sanchez in the past. And were far too sympathetic to his ‘dodgy knee’ injury against Kabayel.

However, Sanchez has beaten hype jobs before in Ajagba and Torrez. And he has a good chance on his best day to beat Itauma.

Its hard to know what version of Sanchez we’ll get. But, I feel Itauma is probably too fast for him and will struggle with Itauma’s underrated bodywork on top of that.

 

Whoever is next on the heavyweight throne should make a point of staying active and fighting as many of the top 15 as possible, even if it does mean fighting a Sanchez or a Gassiev. Inactivity is a blight on the modern sport, but in the modern media landscape, completely cleaning up the top 10/12 names in the heavyweight division is the best thing to do to maximize an audience. Whoever emerges at the top of the division is not going to struggle with the likes of Gassiev or Sanchez, but fighting once a year, or fighting in 3 or 4 woeful "tune-up" fights as a top 10 ranked fighter does nothing for anyone.
