I guess its all part of the circus. I dont know why he would wish to move down a HALF DIVISION anyway.. Unless the chance to gain the Middleweight tiltle on behalf of his management team, will enable another reason to make a dollar, as the first man to move down divisions and will a title??????/
Mmmm, you might just want to have a few re-runs of his tough fights. Echols Niche Kessler etc & see how little he was on the front foot mate. Anyway, we can agree to disagree.
I dont think Winky outslicks anyone He's a jab cover up jab merchant, always has been. Like you said Mundine could have won fights that he has lost but it was part of his learning curve, give him the Ottke and Siaca fight again and i would like to see the result.
You can be great even when you loose, but you can never be great for not trying, thats is in the same leage as Charlie Zelnoff
Charlie Z With respect to Mundine the begining of his career was great, he took on some challenges that much you have to give him. Back on topic, Mundine blasts Manfredo into next week.
Mundine would not be the first fighter to win titles moving down in weight, Bob Fitzimmons did it. I am sure Mundine would beat Otkke now, how long has he been retired already ? But he will not beat a top tier fighter in their prime ever. He is good but does not have that little bit of steel needed to be great.
Do you think that everyone hammers Mundine because they just don't like him or because they geniunely care about his career? All threads associated to him are ten times longer than other Aussie boxing topics.
I wasnt talking about Mundine fighting the ottke of now, i was referring to this version of Mundine v the version of Ottke that beat him. Mundine would win imo.
Mate.. its just a very frustrating turn of events from where I stand... The Man was KOd via the hands of Ottke..... and remained focused on his career....Siaca beat him, took his crown... and remained focussed on his career He lost to Kessler... and remained focussed on his career..... He bashed Danny Green.... and remained focusssed on his career...He regained the title..... and lost all focus.... other than making dollars..WHAT A WASTE.... he should be fighting the likes of Jones Jnr by now... and making his permanent, conclusive mark on the world stage.....
I see where you are coming from. I wonder how hard it is to land a fight for a world title or against a big name from the States. I just hope this next fight, which should be announced soon as Choc stated he intends to fight in November, is against a decent name. Hope he fights on a Golden Boy undercard (main support bout) or something similar to build his profile. Fighting in Oz doesn't generate much worldwide attention unless it's against a big name.
Yeah most of this is true...... but bashing Green is a little off cue to be honest..... I wld have said it was a boxing lesson not a bashing. :good
Cheers Kal... I only suggest its a bashing due to onesidedness of the fight... True as you said it though, It was a boxing lesson...
Rather than talking about a purely hypothetical rematch with ( an already old Ottke ) Mundine should have taken the rematch with Kessler , that is if he is half as good as he says he is. Sciaca was not top level either , does anyone think Mundine CAN beat Kessler, Calzaghe, Pavlik to name 3 ?
