AB was a horrible style matchup for Ward that is for sure.

This post is 100% right. Ward wasn't ducking anyone specifically, but he did know when to retire to protect his 0.

It's actually a bit worse than that. Shortly after retiring, Canelo was an option but he didn't want to do it, said after a pundit night he had other stuff in his life then walked off with his backpack on like he was going to school.
He was worried about losing to Canelo.
Ward was a big SMW, btw. Much bigger than Canelo.

Lemme tell you, Ward/Greene was the most quietly bored crowd I have ever seen in my life compared to Vegas Crowd…

the Super 6 was pretty nuts for its time. Can you imagine if Today’s lightweight/jr/welter would sign up for something similar

No. There’s always going to be a guy up and coming that the next fighter is accused of avoiding. People were accusing Ward of avoiding Kovalev. Kovalev back then was destroying people too. I just think injuries and Ward feeling as if he accomplished his goals is why he retired.

He didnt have it to fight Beterbiev and/or Bivol. Wisely retired before his 2nd loss

Maybe but I try not judge someone for retiring, certainly from a dangerous sport like boxing. It's not the same for me as ducking someone while active.

When my favorite old guy avoids his best competition to have another circus fight it is ok because he's old and do you really expect him to fight the best when he's no longer in his prime I mean come on? However when my least favorite old guy retires, HE'S DUCKING AND A FRAUD!! I DON'T CARE IF HE'S OLD HE NEEDS TO BE FIGHTING THE BEST COMPETITION UNTIL HE DIES!!
