Prime Roy Jones jr vs Joe Louis

Jones was super athletic super quick with superior boxing skills. The idea is that Louis will have a problem chasing him down and Jones will either avoid or roll with Louis’ punches. Joe won’t land many solid shots.

 

Because RJJ wasn't fighting Joe ****ing Louis ....

 

Joe catches Roy between 8-11 rounds, coldcocks him.

 

We're not here to compare John Ruiz and Joe Louis.

 

Roy knocks him out in 1 round. Joe wakes up in the hospital not knowing what hit him.

 

Roy did not have a weak jaw, that's a stupid myth.
He was old when he was KO'd and he was hit flush with big punches.

 

If Jones keeps his head on straight and does his best Billy Conn act, he will have a chance. It is a good fight and both men have a win condition. I think it could be a lot like the Tarver trilogy in how it plays out even. It could also just be one fight, with a JL KO win.

 

RJJ definitely beats Louis, and quite easy, in a few rounds. Maybe just 1 if he takes some risks.

 

Joe never makes it past round 3.

 

Joe won't be able to land anything significant on him. Roy will toy with poor ol' slow Joe and hit him at will.

 

Joe will never close the distance. And the match will only be 12 rounds.

 

Roy was way faster.
