You say that boxing fans suck cause they rooting against Itauma and then proceed to bash Hrgović, who literally did nothing wrong and faced every opponent who wanted to fight him.

Hrgovic is famous for rabbit punching and switching off in fights the moment adversity arrives. He invites his own fortune.

We can critisize fighters of course, but if you say boxing fans suck because they critisize someone (someone you like) and then do the same to someone else (someone you don't like), it's funny and hypocritical.

Maybe, but there's a huge difference between fighters like Itauma and Hrgovic. Context is important to take into account here.

I'm not sold on him being the best thing since sliced bread the way some would have you believe. For his age, he certainly looks to be very good. Accurate , heavy handed, good technique, fast.

But who's his best opponent been? Franklin? McKean? Sure , the way he blasted them out was impressive but what have they done to be considered kingmakers of sorts? Ok, Franklin went the distance with AJ and Whyte, so what?

I like Itauma in the ring. Think he's dull as dishwater outside the ring, and there's a kind of arrogance about him that I can't stand. Not a showman's arrogance either, not like a Wilder or a Fury, but a deeply seated personal arrogance like everyone's just beneath him. And his team and promoters talking up beating Mike Tyson's record as youngest heavyweight champion while taking months on end between easy fights is one of those obnoxious marketing gimmicks that do my head in. Sure, Tyson has a load of easy early fights but he was fighting multiple times per month at the same stage Moses is at now, not taking 6 months off to then fight Mike Balogun.
Kudos to him for fighting Hrgovic, have to respect that, I hope we get some questions answered about his chin and gas tank so we can finally have a balanced conversation about him rather than "he's the best thing ever" or "he's a fraud".

Most of my criticism of him isn't actually aimed at him per se, more the discourse around him commensurate with what he's actually achieved and against who

I just did to Hrgovic what you all are doing to Itauma...

Its easy to pick holes in a fighter and talk them down.

No doubt if Itauma smokes Hrg all the sudden the same people will be claiming he was a bum.

So practice what you preach. Don't tear down anybody. And I'm not "y'all". I'm actually very impressed by Itauma and excited to see his career develop.

Well, until now, Hrgovic achieved more in the HW division.

    I'm not sold

Chin check is the first big test in boxing that one must overcome.

Now to be where he is i'm sure his beard is decent but when you take a monster shot from a heavy how will he handle it. Will he be one of them rare ones who just needs a moment, does he go wobbly, does he get flash knocked down but up easily...or does get chinned.

Hurgo isn't the guy to test that though...dubious handled all his power.

Hrgovic is nine years into his pro career and has like one quality win. That's not impressive

Problem with Itouma he's been a hype job since his early career, like 2 fights in. Especially from those UK pundits like TalkSports. They fell quiet after he went the distance a few times but then immediately jumped back on the bandwagon after the KO streak resumed.

I see no similarities to Mike Tyson at all, who had a much better tear through the heavyweight division and still didn't get noticed until he had over 10 fights in.

Itouma has been handled very carefully. His chin is suspect from getting dropped in sparring (he admitted to this), his brother got KTFO brutally and he huffs and puffs when the 5th round comes.

His power doesn't seem all that when he's never knocked anyone out cold like Tyson has. In fact his last chump opponent Bologna sprung up after every knockdown like a spring chicken.

That doesn't bode well for the top of the division that can go into deep waters and handle punches better. I would bet even now Wardley would absolutely destroy Itouma in a slugfest.

The same fan boys praising Itouma are the same ones who wouldn't even bat an eye for Edgar Berlanga or David Lemiux, because they're not British. Itouma is going to be exposed badly just like they were.

Probably starting with Hergovic as long as he shows up to fight

    Exposed by who exactly??

Neither Fury nor AJ are in their primes. What he does or does not do to them in their primes is irrelevant. He's young and will continue to get better. That's what I'm looking at.

    Lol :lol::thumbsup: Exactly.

The guy just has a weird manufactured vibe to him. And how come he never went for the big medals in the Ams??? His whole career/road up to this point just seems odd. And prime Joshua would absolutely find that chin of his quick. Lol And the way Itauma RAVED about this amateur’s punching power who he was sparring… Lol I mean I looked up the guy and his power is pretty good but if itauma was shocked by this dudes power… almost like he was hurt by him… I can’t wait until Filip cracks him with that right :D

And he has decent power but I’d bet anything that even Gassiev at this point hits harder than him.
