Fight is off, Yoka is injured...

I hope the card isn't cancelled, there are several good undercard matchups.

Joyce should jump in. He is gonna fight on the card, and this is probably his only chance to fight for a belt.

Apparently he is the front runner!

Why not put AJ in there instead? The Pregna fight is already an after thought. Then Fury-AJ could be for an actual title.

Hmm, a back injury (the easiest type of injury to fake) with a very short recovery time. I'm not suggesting Yoka lost his bottle and conjured up an excuse to pull out, but actually that is exactly what I am suggesting.

Possible, but why? Yoka has always been courageous enough and this fight was winnable.

It's not impossible he is no condition to fight, but I remember Carl Froch talking about how after coming through so much sparring it is inevitable that a fighter will go into a fight will some sort of injury or discomfort. For a fighter to pull out on the basis of an injury with a two week recovery time sort of indicates they could have fought, or would have fought against an easier touch.

    Joyce:

Knocking on 41, out of the ring for 15+ months, lost to Zhang x2 (the 2nd a brutal one-punch KO domination), 40+ Chisora and Hrgovic in his last five fights, hasn't beaten an opponent of note in nearly 4 years.

Based on this, Gassiev should KO Joyce as he did Pulev.

I think Joyce would be an easier opponent for Gassiev than Yoka, for several reasons.

One, he's not difficult to hit.

Two, although he'll have a reach advantage, it's not so much as Yoka. He's tall, but not as tall as Yoka.

Three, he's been stopped, Yoka has not. He was knocked down by faded Chisora.

Four, he's past his prime. Yoka although mediocre, is in his prime.
