Joyce may be stepping in to fight Gassiev

    Joyce is already scheduled to fight on the same show July 11th that Yoka pulled out of. This fight is now for the fully recognised WBA title as Usyk has vacated his belts.

    Would be so awesome to see Joyce finally win a full world title but no formality because Gassiev can bang and Joyce is hardly elusive.

    On the down side if Joyce did win he’d probably fight on at the big stage against an opponent he may now be incapable against. Someone like potentially Dubois or Itauma.

    Bring it on. Saves the show and is probably the better fight anyways.

    The undefeated Suslenkov deserves the WBA world title fight more than Joyce.

    But Gassiev-Joyce will be an interesting fight. I just hope DAZN will show it.

    A couple of years ago Joyce would win easily. But he's completely shot and chin cracked. I'd now favour Gassiev in a battle of the plodders.

    Joyce's only chance is if Gassiev gets injured and has to retire. Joyce is completely shot so that is unlikely.

    Gassiev is a fraction of what he used to be, but Joyce even more so. Don't like the idea of Joyce having to take bombs from Gassiev, who, if nothing else, still hits like an absolute mule. I think he'll get leveled eventually.

    Nah if he wins, he just retires lol and retires a champion no need to get knocked out by Itauma

    Yoka is slightly taller than Joyce at 6'7" with an 82" reach, Joyce is 6'6" with an 80" reach.

    Gassiev is 6'2" with a 76" reach.
