Not a fan of the stoppage. I do think bell was going to get taken out either way

Bell's pitty patty punches will not take him to the next level. He is a good boxer but no power at all.

I still think Emiliano Vargas beats Mason.

Mason made some nice adjustments in the second half. Ref could have let the fight continue but probably saw Bell wasn't doing much for consecutive rounds on top of getting dropped twice. I think Mason would have stopped him anyway.

Yeah, because Bell had won 5 rounds tops and been dropped twice. The only one being protected was Bell.

Credit to Mason for turning it around and getting the stoppage but another disgusting stoppage and A side corruption from the ref.

Mason likely would've stopped him in that round anyway but that stoppage was straight BS.

Bell has a six round tank, can't pop a grape, can't take a pop to the breadbasket, and has no grit but after stepping up to Brit Level and just one war vs a Brit warrior Mason is shot to bits at just 22 y/o. We go to war like that everyday in the gym vs each other and are often shot to bits long before we step up to the world level

I think the ref was trying to make 100% sure. What else explains him stopping it on a borderline push down with no count? One of the worst stoppages you will ever see.

The ref didn’t need to pull that out of the fire for Mason there. But I think he was just making sure. But he was gonna win a decision anyway.

Mason relying on power to bail him out. It's not even that great for the weight class.

Bell classy in defeat and attributes the loss to a pair of broken nostrils

The stoppage was trash, but there was 2 minutes left. He'd already been dropped twice in the first 45 seconds. I can see why Nelson waved it. Bell had been taking a beating for 5 rounds straight, and a sustained beating in the 12th usually isn't great for a fighter's long term health.
