True, there are more than you would think. But they weren't visitors, they made a full transition.

 

Even though Vitali Klitchko had a lot of fighting skills, he was technically pretty much the worst heavyweight in there of the top 10.

A physiological decline can develop slowly (and perhaps be barely noticeable, especially when a boxer faces an opponent he already knows, has beaten, and knows exactly what to do to beat him again....) and then progress more markedly. With a 39 year old boxer it's always fair to assume a decline after a lackluster performance, but other factors could also contribute to this poor performance, such as less than perfect physical condition or a suboptimal training camp. This is without taking anything away from the opponent's merits, Rico put in a great performance, and then we all saw Usyk struggle to find the right distance to land his punches and take more hits than usual. It's logical to think that at 39 the decline might have entered a more marked phase. I feel compelled to make these observations.

 

Yes, but not all of them worked with the Fury's for 14 years, either. They say that sparring is sparring and fighting is fighting, but something is true in this world until it is not. It was pretty obvious that Peter was going to work out a strategy to use Rico's size, workrate, and awkward style--all of which I said was going to happen, so you have to forgive me when I wasn't surprised.

 

i believe they are geniuses when it comes to fight iq. and this is probably how he won all his fights in kickboxing.

but technically this is very clearly a kickboxer who doesn't know how to sit down on his punches, because he never did it.

But that is what makes him dangerous against a boxer--the volume that can be generated with the pitty-pat style. Whereas a puncher would wipe him out.

 

Usyk wasn't never that good. He was always exaggerated. Rico just exposed him.

The 10 months Usyk had between fights is too long.

 

Doesn't look like Usyk has been lacking a punch, he's stopped or almost stopped everyone in the heavies. I think the fact that hes¨s not a true heavyweight might factor in when you adopt certain styles against him.

I felt Ricos punch was heavy enough, it just didn't look to me in that clip like he had ever boxed in any capacity. it wasn't impressive at all. if he wasn't a heavy guy those punches would be like a reddit user.

 

I'm a kicker too and I know Rico somewhat as a kickboxer. He was equally mediocre with his kicks. there's just no x factor about this guy. so it didnt make sense to me why he would do well

and when he fought the old guard in badr hari.way past his prime, he got pummeled both times.

and Badr Har is a murderous puncher but not a boxer by any means.

 

He punches when he has to, or it is opportune for him to do so. he fights primarily as a boxer. Very conservitive style in which he does not leave much on the table, and yes, Rico underestimated the punch.

 

I don't understand for the life of me why he accepted 12 rounds in his second fight ever (first true one) instead of 10.
