De La Hoya should be favored against all 140s from his era who didn't win a belt at 147 or above. For the purposes of this exercise beating the WBA regular champion who was never ranked in Rings top 10 at 147 doesn't count. If we grade Floyd and Manny's 147 opponents on a curve, Hatton comes in just about last. For Floyd at least Oscars first. Only the best 147's could beat Oscar. Floyd, Manny, Trinidad,Mosley and Quartey. And Hatton proved that wasn't him. Hatton could have been a long reigning WW champ in another era but Oscar would have dominated WW in such an era.
Don't agree, i think Hatton would be competitive with anyone at 140, bar maybe the absolute elites. I think Oscar Ultimately stops him but Hatton would have his moments.
