Joyce may be stepping in to fight Gassiev

Kadiru is hot garbage. If Gassiev doesn't smoke him in the first few that's confirmation that he's completely shot. And this fight is a total joke. Joyce would have been a better opponent by any reasonable metric. Competitive losses to Hrgovic and Chisora mean more than any win in Kadirus career. Makhmudov would KO1 Kadiru for ****s sake.

 

He's got zero chin or power. and a total amateur style that isn't built at all for the pros. That's a recipe for disaster. As he found out when that Argentinian Journeyman destroyed him in the first round.

Why was Kadiru never stopped in the amateurs if he has zero chin? "Zero power"? His KO ratio is decent too.

Joe Joyce is a shot 40 year old who's lost 4 of his past 5, he even lost to old Chisora who Wilder recently beat. I doubt either Kadiru or Moore would be knocked down by current Chisora like Joyce was.

He's 4 decisions away from a 50% KO ratio and against limited opposition. That's not exactly what I'd call "decent'

Why wasn't he stopped in the amateurs? Head gear and larger gloves might have something to do with it. The pros are a different beast. Audley Harrison won gold as an amateur but was getting brutally KO'd by the likes of feather fisted Michael Sprott in the pros.

You're right. Chisora would probably lay him out for the count. Wilder beat Chisora by the skin of his teeth.

 

Wilder would have stopped Chisora except for the crooked British referee protecting him. Watch the fight. Joe Joyce struggled with and was knocked down by Chisora - he's completely SHOT.

 

Yeah and he would still spank Kadiru and at the very least give Gassiev a tough fight. Gassiev was fighting on more or less even terms with a 45 year old Pulev before finding the KO. Joyce would murder Kadiru. He has no power or chin. Joyce would walk through all of his punches and KO him.

 

Joyce won that fight imo

 

I don't understand why Hearn didn't try to get AJ this fight. Prenga is just being paid to lose. It could have been one of his last opportunities to win a title.

Or Fury could have stepped in. Surely both are in camp right now. The Wach fight is an even bigger joke.

Well, it's interesting, because you're supposed to have heard of someone who gets to fight for a world title.

If they have no history, they bring nothing to the promotion. So, then, the question becomes why does someone who no one has heard of and who brings nothing to the promotion get picked to leap over everyone in the ratings to get a title shot?

Usually, the answer isn't good.
