Prime Holmes V Prime Tyson/Prime Louis V Prime Marciano?

Holmes of 78 gets bludgeoned all over the ring by prime Tyson just like he did a few years outside of his prime. My Lord, that version of Tyson struggled the year before with 195 lb Tom Prater. (And I was around Prater then and he took training zero seriously) The barely out of his prime version didn't land a meaningful punch on prime Tyson and looked like a drunken old man with zero reflexes.

 

What happened when they came at a prime Louis?

 

Against Tyson,Holmes was 38, and hadn't fought for 2 years. Prater never fought Tyson, and he was 207lbs when he fought Holmes back inJan1977,Holmes won every round.

Barely out of his prime? LOL. Holmes' prime ended in 1982 and by 1984 in the eyes of the public he was ready to be taken, that's why he was cherry picking.

 

Louis vs Marciano would be a brutal war, A prime Joe Louis was the greatest power combination puncher ever, a more experienced Marciano would always be dangerous but barring injuries the fight could go late and who could continue and have something left. Dangerous fight always for Louis but - the young version got righthanded by Schmeling but rebounded in rematch- Could go into late rounds. Louis would be the favorite, but Marciano brings intangibles.

Holmes vs Tyson would always be a tough fight for Holmes to overcome - Holmes dropped badly by Snipes and Shavers and Ko'd badly by Tyson (all right hands). Holmes had the experience and watched many of Tysons fights - the younger version was physically stronger, but Tyson would always be Holmes kryptonite Tyson by ko probably before the 10th and possibly in the 4th round again depending on Holmes strategy. Tyson was a good finisher unlike Shavers and Snipes.
