Just in from Dan Rafael: Gassiev's last-minute opponent is Peter Kadiru (right... who?) and, per Rafael, it will stream on both YouTube and DAZN.

Who? I always feel dumb when I have no idea who's fighting in a supposed headliner?

Sad for a first defense if true.

With less than a week's notice, we should not expect a top opponent.

Joyce was available, a name people actually know and at least brings it, win lose or draw. This isn't just "not a top opponent" it's sad. Kadiru is ranked 51st and hardly ever fought outside of Germany.

Gassiev couldn't even pull anyone in the top fifty?

In all fariness we don't know if Joyce was willing to accept in a week and some change. Also, to be honest, it just makes me sad watching Joyce fight.

I was hoping for Suslenkov, but I will watch anything. It is good to see Gassiev fighting more frequently and in position for one last big try.

I won't be surprised if Gassiev loses to that guy by decision.

With Gassiev, you never know. He could lose at any moment.

Don't know much about kadiru, but in germany they often said he was a pretty good amateur apparently. So maybe he can actually outbox gassiev. Until the ko against pulev, gassiev didn't exactly look very good.

Obviously gassiev is the big favorite and that is not a good matchup

Kadiru possesses neither the skills nor the power to put up any kind of resistance; Gassiev stops him...

This guy has been nothing but a let down since he lost to Usyk.. Why he seems to keep a dedicated fanbase on this forum where people are hyper-critical, especially of heavyweights, I’ll never understand…
He’s barely fought while beating a bunch of cans, losing to Wallin, and beating an ancient Pulev…

As far as I’m concerned this is a good match up because Gassiev in 2026 hasn’t even proven he’s a world level fighter…

I think out of the options available Gassiev quite smartly has taken the least risky

Might as well get a defence in before cashing on when he inevitably loses that belt to a legit challenger

But saying that The opponent here is terrible and if Gassiev loses or even struggles, it's a bad look

Too bad he wasn't fighting a kaiju.

As it turns out, Kadiru was set to go into the next WBA heavyweight ratings this month anyway, because he won a WBA continental belt in May, with his win over Gashi.

So he is ranked by the WBA.
