    I'm thinking about big heavyweight championship fights where a fighter was losing and came back from behind to win by KO in the later rounds


    Joe Louis vs Billy Conn
    Rocky Marciano vs Jersey Joe Walcott
    George Foreman vs Michael Moorer
    Usyk vs Verhoeven

    Marciano v Charles 2 was about to be stopped on Rocky’s split nose. Ref gave him one more
    round and he knocked him out.

    as im trying to think of times it happened Im kind of shocked how few times its happened. Wilder came close.

    Well back in those days, the WBA, along with the WBC, was the only game in town - but I get the idea, all of us boxing fans back then considered Holmes to be the true champ, particularly after he beat up the shell of Ali.

    I thought Wilder-Ortiz 1 was a come-from-behind knockout, but I looked it up and Wilder was actually ahead 85-84 on all 3 scorecards.

    Ortiz should’ve been ahead after 9 rounds.

    Wilder was behind on the cards after 6 rounds in the rematch before landing that beautiful right hand.

    Funny enough, because everyone knew he was fooling around, but Muhammad Ali was actually behind on points when he rallied suddenly and stopped Ron Lyle in the 11th round.

    Corbett vs Fitzsimmons was the first that came to my mind. Corbett scored a knockdown in the 6th but didn't manage to finish his opponent. He was leading on points until 14th round when Fitz delivered his famous solar plexus punch and knocked the champion out.
