The great Jose Legra has passed away, aged 83.

Legra put together an amazing career CV of 129-11-4 and is best remembered to Aussie fans as the guy Johnny Famechon won the WBC title from in 1969. It was Legra's first loss in eons.

    RIP champ.

Jai Opetaia will be back in the ring in September.

Wonder who the lucky loser will be this time?

It will be his first Zuffa title defence, so I hope it's someone decent.

Wonder if Billam-Smith is done ducking him yet?

Jai Opetaia's September date is September 12th, as part of the Garcia-Benn card.

    Opetaia's opponent TBA.

With every day that passes without Fulton arriving Wilson gains a significant advantage. $3.80 odds looking like value to me.

It's reckless. Some fighters leave it to the last minute to get here. It's only their career on the line...

You'd reckon, but Slick Willie is out to $4.00 on the TAB. What do they know that I don't? Maybe actually having watched Fulton fight would give me a different perspective? Think I'll wait until Sunday week as my bets are already on. Go Slick Willie. Make it rain for the Sandman.

Jai must be chuffed at being granted the privilege of fighting on a Conor Benn undercard.

I have suspected for some time that this fight is a just money grab for Errol Spence.....and just read that he is currently caught up in a $US5 million legal dispute with his former trainer Derrick James. Well fancy that!

What the fck as Jeffery been smokin?
Whatever it is, put it down mate

“We’ve traveled, and I’ve always watched him and thought, ‘Well, this kid is going to be the greatest Aussie fighter.’ He will surpass me and his dad. I’ve always thought that, and I still think that he’s going to have the opportunity to do that.”

Source: Jeff Fenech Says Tim Tszyu Can Surpass Kostya (https://www.boxingnews24.com/2026/07/jeff-fenech-says-tim-tszyu-can-surpass-kostya/)

    Yeah, and how's that going??
He's 0-3 in world title fights overseas, and we have guys like Jai, Liam Paro, Andrew Moloney, George K Jr, all have done or are doing great things for Australian boxing and have surpassed what Timmy's achieved to date.

Jeff's right. You'll see when he beats Erol Spence. It won't just be the best win in Australian boxing history but in all of Australian sporting history.

    It's coming home.
