Derek Chisora vs Murat Gassiev for the WBA Heavyweight Championship

So why don't you fight him instead of Gassiev? It seems like a disgrace for him to get a title shot.

Back when boxing had a soul, you would be correct. Now it's like 'eh'. I personally think it's an intriguiging fight.

 

Cruiserweight Gassiev was a great win, and a great, great performance. Heavyweight Gassiev has nothing to do with Usyk’s resume since they didn’t fight at heavyweight.

Of course Wallin and Pulev fights will be discussed non-stop, they’re his only relevant opponents at HW. And if he fights 40 something Chisora coming off a loss to 40 something Wilder next, he’ll be proving his critics right.

 

I think he is totally undeserving of a title shot. He's not only far past it himself but coming off a loss to an equally shot Wilder. The fight doesn't make sense on any level I can see.

If he's so desperate for cash why can't he fight Jake Paul? Or go into porn? Surely there are ways for him to make money that don't deprive deserving fighters of opportunities

It's a winnable title defence for Gassiev, stacking up a bit more cash before inevitably selling the WBA title to an much better fighter

The early warning signs are there that Gassiev intends to make a couple of not weak defences where possible before stepping up

 

Could say the same about having a champion without 1 decent win at HW

 

I like the fight. Gets good exposure to the reigning WBA champ too.
