Who would you like to see Agit Kabayel fight in his first WBC title defense?

He's got a right to a money fight so I fully expect to see Rico or WladKlit or whatever he can get.

But after that, he has to get down to the business of mandos, unis, and top ten fights. His raison d'etre is that Usyk only wants the big fights now, so he was asked by the fans, and conceded to vacate the belts as not to hold up the division. Kabayel CANNOT now be the guy to hold up the division.

Fight Rico and then on to Okolie (if he's not banned).

 

Just a reality check on everyone's favourite victim, Bild's great German Hero Kebabyal.
He is not young. He fought Chisora before AI was even being talked about.
Since then he could have fought belt holders over the years but clearly dodged them all to protect his 0.
The idea Fury, AJ, Wilder etc. would have avoided him is nonsense.
He and his team were rewarded for dodging people by now being set up to be a fake champion. He was carefully positioned and here we are.
He would have lost to the names mentioned and plenty of others.
Povetkin would have beaten him easily and not-ancient Pulev probably beats him too.

Meh. I tried to like Novitskyi but after watching his last fight I personally came to the conclusion that he's bang average/mediocre, with no noteworthy attributes.

Jalolov was an outstanding amateur but looks poor as a pro. But I suppose it would be Ok considering his accolades in the amateurs, Interesting to see if he can ever adapt to the pros. But I'd expect Kabayel to go through him easily.

 

Dubois never beat the man, but when he was the IBF title holder, he destroyed AJ who was rated number 3 in the world and he won the WBO belt by beating Wardley, who was a Top 3 guy too. Only lost to Usyk recently, so his claim is very strong.

 

The same WBC that gave Glass Jaw Wilder four optional title defenses before he had to even consider a mandatory?

 

Kabayel fights once a year. His next fight will be in 2027.

 

I’d still like to see Kabayel fight Riddick Rabbit,after all he agreed with the WBC to fight Kabayel next if he was allowed to fight Verhoeven in a WBC sanctioned bout and then after that poor showing dropped all the belts ! If Usyk still dies not fancy it then Kabayel against any of the other World Belt holders would be nice . I would also like Kabayel to stop going the Usyk route and hopefully fight more than once per year .

 

It's hard to beat THE champion when they duck you to fight a clown-show gimmick bout against a 1–0 boxer who hadn't earned a title shot, then immediately vacate the belts as soon as you become the mandatory challenger.

We've also seen far worse heavyweight champions in previous eras, such as Charles Martin, Bermane Stiverne, and, more controversially, the young version of Joseph Parker, who I think was worse than both Kabayel and Dubois.

 

Kabayel gained a good amount of recognition after beating Chisora and established himself as a solid EBU champion. As a comparison, he received far more recognition than the current EBU champion, Labinot Xhoxhaj.

However, to say Kabayel was in a position to fight the biggest names at that point is simply not true. He wasn't in talks to face any of the world champions, and he wasn't the name he is today. Even now, he's still not a superstar.Fury and Wilder have both shown throughout their careers that they're more than willing to avoid top contenders if the fights don't make financial sense for them.

Also, why is losing to Povetkin in a hypothetical matchup being used as some kind of insult? Povetkin was an very good heavyweight.
