Plus Wilder is shot to bits and is not hitting as hard as he did in his prime. Not even close. This will be a schooling and showing of levels.

I definitely disagree. Usyk stoppage is the likely outcome.

 

I backed Usyk to go up to heavyweight and beat everyone, but his end of career plans are a bit of a damp fart. Wilder and Fury fights don’t interest me at all, it feels like a seniors tour in Golf or Tennis. I think Verhoeven must have done a real number on his confidence.

 

Usyk is not only better than Fury as a fighter but head and shoulders above him as a person.
I don't begrudge him making a few quid fighting Wilder- would sooner that than give Fury another spot in the limelight

 

To be fair, he wanted to face Wilder even earlier, when Deontay was coming off a lackluster win against Tyrell Herndon, lol.

 

Usyk knows he was losing that fight on any fair card. Yes, it was open scoring, so he knew it was even on those crooked ass cards going into the 11th, but he knew in reality he was losing. You could tell with his praying before rounds began, and then again after the stoppage.

 

I can't understand how anyone could hate this guy.

He may speak in broken English and not be the most exciting person in an interview, but man is he inspirational, and charming. I'm so pleased for AJ that he's working with him. He might not be able to turn AJ's current trajectory around, but there's no way AJ, even at his age, can't learn certain things from him and improve. Mentally and physically. And the positive energy from being around him must be amazing. Probably exactly what AJ needed after the tragedy last year.

I really don't need to see the Fury trilogy again. Man, I hope it doesn't happen. Especially if Fury finally beats him... that would really suck, and just give Fury the opportunity to be like, 'See? I told you I was robbed last time.' And we all know he would. He doesn't deserve it, especially after those comments about the judges siding with Usyk because Ukraine are at war, that was disgraceful. Usyk is clearly a very forgiving person.

I'd be happy to see the Wilder fight though. Should be a simple Usyk win (but after Verhoeven, who knows?), but it would be nice to see a new opponent, and tick another long-reigning ex-champion off his list (despite it being a manufactured reign). I would like to see the Verhoeven rematch too, as Verhoeven deserves it. They're the two last Usyk fights I want to see, as obviously Kabayel is never happening now, which is a shame but hey.

I don't understand why the Rico rematch seems not to be happening, it could be easily promoted as unfinished business for both of them. It's a strange end to Usyk's career, taking the Rico fight in the first place, not rematching him and fighting Wilder instead? I don't get it to be honest, it seems like the stories about his team being in shambles after some important members left is true.

If he doesn't rematch Rico and put it to bed it will be talked about forever, no-one gives a crap if he beats shot to bits Wilder, someone in his team has brainwashed him that he needs to fight Wilder.
