Even if he beat Fury I dont think he'd be 2 Theyre both old and past it now anyways I do think it would be more of a deabte tho
Yes exactly Even if most think that a champion will beat a challenger the challenger should still get his shot You dont know whats gonna happen in boxing This is like when I mentioned how Canelo ducked Demetrius Andrade and people were like "it doesnt matter he would have beaten him anyways"
He had nothing left to prove after Dubois II or Fury II. No one would have cared if Usyk had retired three months after beating Dubois. But instead, he chose to defend his title a year later against a 1–0 kickboxer who hadn't earned a title shot, then immediately retired as soon as Kabayel became his mandatory challenger. That's duck behavior. I don't care that he was 39.
Also, you guys are slandering Kabayel because of reports that he was rumored to fight Rico or Klitschko. More recent reports, however, suggest he's trying to make a unification fight with Gassiev. In my opinion, Gassiev isn't even a top 15 heavyweight, but at least it's a unification fight. You guys need to wait until these matchups are official before slandering a fighter. He might not end up fighting Gassiev, but if we're going to judge based on the current rumors, then that's a positive start to his reign as champion. sources: https://boxingnewsonline.net/news/hearn-has-man-to-beat-kabayel-and-dubois/ https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ot...for-blockbuster-unification-fight/ar-AA28koz1
Seems like the lowest hanging fruit to chase when he could be taking on Dubios, but it's acceptable if he is trying to unify. Just wish the division would get a move on.
Question is if Murat Gassiev would accept it? If he has the choice between being KO‘d by Kabayel in the 7th round and earning 200k vs being KO‘d by Dubois in the 3rd round and earning 3mn, I think he would prefer the Dubois fight.
Dubois is tied up with the Wardley rematch. Come on, man, you're not giving Kabayel the credit he deserves.
He's barely active and has three decent wins. It's not as though he's stayed busy and taken risks like other contenders. EDIT: I wonder if that rematch will actually take place, haven't heard it announced anywhere yet.
Of course they do. They are easily as deserving as Fury and company maybe more so. What did Fury and company accomplish to put themselves in a higher category. Nothing I can see. Also "no they don't haha" isn't a very compelling argument
I'm just pushing back on the idea that Kabayel is some sort of duck. He's shown no signs of ducking anyone throughout his career. If he fights Gassiev in a title unification for his first defense, people should have nothing to complain about. I only brought up Dubois because he's tied up with the Wardley rematch. That fight is still happening, but it'll probably be a while before Wardley recovers and begins training for it.
I wouldn't complain about a unification fight. But he really needs to start stepping up a few gears now he's champion (and honestly, he should have been doing that years ago).
He dethroned Klitschko who had the 3rd longest reign ever Knocked out Wilder twice and should've won 3 2 good fights with Usyk Those 3 don't compare and I'm a big proponent of Pinklon Thomas being underrated but he doesn't remotely compare to Tyson Fury
