It's been a while since I've watched it, but I remember Hagler besting Duran on the inside and remaining more composed while Duran seemed to fade, like if there were 5 more rounds Hagler would have ran away with it

I don't agree with Duran should not have made it into deep water with Hagler, Bonavena made it into deep water with Ali, they had the style and the skill

Maybe the way Duran dismantled Moore in his previous fight had something to do with it, in hindsight the way Hearns took out Duran showed that Hagler could have at least tried stepping on the gas a bit harder

Hagler expected Duran to try to infight witih him and Roberto cleverly boxed, using his timing and accuracy to flummox Marvin at times. Seemed to be up for grabs going into the final three rounds.

Marvin wasn’t great at adjustments (or maybe the Petronellis weren’t) and he was almost too late in pulling the trigger to bully Duran and make a fight of it to pull it out.

There’s drama because Duran is within a whisker of pulling it off through a dozen rounds or so. Roberto’s skills are on full display and there’s a beauty in that. It wasn’t the slugfest many expected and more of a boxing aficionado’s type fight than a brawl to appeal to the masses, but any true fan should appreciate it.
