Jai had every opportunity to become undisputed in his weight class but chose to go with uncle fester and his plastic belt.

he probably loses to David but he could of got Zurdo and the Armenian guy out of there.

    Every opportunity?

Is that an attempt at humour?

He knocks both Ramirez and Benavidez out on the same night.

He’s bigger, stronger, tougher and hits harder than both those frauds put together.

I’m not talking specifically about Jai as I’m not really involved or privy to his discussions with the IBF.

IBF are traditionally strict and are quick to strip if you don’t do as they say. This has positives and negatives. (Zuffa will be similar)

Did you not think that starting to fight under the UFC boxing model, may cause issues?
Dana repeatedly says he wants to end the IBF (and other orgs).
This was not going to end well.
    It’s pretty predictable.

when you are a champion, you can’t just do what you want, you have to work with the governing body (just like any sport).

similarly, if the ufc champion wants to go and fight on a Eddie Hearn show and defend his ufc belt, I’m sure he will be stripped. Do you not think so?

But you are talking specifically about Jai. You accused him of walking away from the sport.

And you’re conflating two different situations (one of which is a hypothetical one) so it’s not really worth a response.

Why should Opetaia be put on ice because a corrupt governing body decides when, where and whom he fights whilst allegedly top contenders are allowed to make the fights they choose? A professional sporting life is short. He’s entitled to get paid.

Almost as if you forgot he just went the distance with a former NFL player bum. Hopefully he knocks out the next bum Dana feeds him.

Anybody who walks away from the official governed sport of boxing, walks away. That includes jai.

His reasons are irrelevant to that fact he’s walked away.

He is free to go and get paid, which he has done. But the IBF are free to strip him.
The IBF are fairly strict in their governance.

It is their job to dictate terms, if he doesn’t like them, jog on.
It’s not first time IBF have stripped someone.

regarding that “hypothetical” scenario, what happened when ngannou fought in boxing? Was he allowed to enter ufc ever again? NO

Progressive lot the IBF. The rankings on their own official website still have Opetaia listed as cruiserweight champion.

Ironically, when they finally get around to correcting that, Glanton's reward for losing will be to remain in their top 10. Whilst Opetaia's reward for winning will be to be removed from their top 10.

This thing sounds like it is going legal and I'm calling b.s. on this reaction from Hearn :

“No. Ridiculous. Desperate and, you know, at the end of the day, there’s no conspiracy for me to get Jai Opetaia stripped. I couldn’t give a ******’s, to be honest with you. Jai Opetaia made the decision to join Zuffa, who publicly stated they will not be working with governing bodies,”

“As such, they didn’t follow the criteria given by the sanctioning body, and therefore the event wasn’t sanctioned. Nothing to do with me. Unfortunately, I know everyone’s really upset, and he was lied to, but that’s the reality of the situation. Speak to the IBF. Like I said, no case against us. Nothing’s been ordered against us. We’ll have that complaint dealt with as well. Unfortunately for them, no involvement from us and no interest.”

Hearn was lobbying for Opetaia to be stripped from the minute he heard Opetaia had signed with Zuffa. He was at it like a dog with a bone and never let up and now he 'couldn't give a .......' ??

    Hearn was born to lie.

To be fair, he was with DAZN, the Saudi´s, and Matchroom. There was an opportunity for him to face Benavidez/Ramirez.
Also to be fair, the Zuffa signings have been confusing as hell - not everyone seems to be fighting under the Zuffa banner per say. Benn fought on Netflix instead of Paramount+, and his next fight will be on DAZN and Netflix. So maybe there is still a chance for Opetaia?

Opetaia waited and waited and waited and none of the guys with belts wanted to fight him or ever even looked like they would.

Get the Opetaia/Benavidez fight happening because it is definitely being hyped up. It might just shut up a few nobodies on here when they actually see Opetaia fight.

They weren't ducking though, they just had opportunities with less damaging opponents.
