I made several contact visits with James when he was still in Trenton State in '90 and have a beer box full of his letters. As such, I find your undue insult of him very regrettable.

 

Come on, the post is 6 years old and Scott was a convicted murderer.

How did you find him? Did you discuss any of his fights? Did he chat about Qawi?

 

I think its an interesting fight, I'm tempted to pick Qawi because he's one of my favorite fighters. I haven't watched to much of Foster besides his losses at heavyweight. I dont think Foster would pulverize Qawi, Dwight fought his share of hard punchers, Foster certainly could tko Dwight. I really can't say other than I wouldnt put money on either guy because I can see both winning.

 

In some ways, this is an unfair matchup. Foster began his amateur career boxing at a young age for the Foster's family brewing company team, where he took his first stage name Bobbydanggym Fostergymkatakhan. Whereas all of Dwight's youth was spent beet-farming, and unable to enjoy leisure time activities like punching people and getting punched by them. That is not a fair advantage to have over a man.

 

While that is very sweet, and I'm sure he's a good friend of yours; it washes very little water with me that an insult to convinced murderer is regrettable.

 

"Sweet?" How pedestrian. I'll suggest that if you know nothing about the details and course of someone's conviction for a crime it likewise washes very little water to denigrate their character in regard to said crime (I read the entire original case file--went to dinner with his former lawyer--and was a practicing forensic psychologist at the time). Would it matter to you that Scott was convicted on circumstantial evidence and the "victim" was dealing H? Do you know the murder charge was dismissed but then they came back 6 years later to convict? Given that (and the other case material you are ignorant of) is it likely, in that same long ago Jersey system that convicted Rubin Carter, Scott would have walked and the case dropped if he'd been a middle class (or wealthier) white guy? I also befriended Hurricane Carter starting 10 years after he got out, thus wonder if you have a similar personally denigrating opinion about that also deceased, outstanding fighter. How about a fantasy fight between you and either one of them? Perhaps reflect this is meant to be a forum for boxing analysis and opinions (which so many do so very well in their posts).

 

Why would you assume I know nothing about Scott's crime?

And thanks for the advice but if someone pistol whips a man, strips him naked, threatens to throw him off a roof, then robs a woman and her sister, and shoots the guy in his car before dumping the body - I'm gonna go out of on a limb and say that man is a bit of a ****.

Well given that they're both dead I'm quite confident I'd win boxing matches. They couldn't handle the movement I'd bring.

Also, it's very weird and very cool that you were friends with two boxers who committed murder.

 

Wow. Do you really think Hurricane Carter was innocent? That guy had such a long VIOLENT criminal history not to mention, he nearly killed one of his own supporters in the 70's. Look up what he did to Carolyn Kelley who was an activist that raised to tons of money to defend him only for Carter to brutally assault her and nearly kill her. Carter was a tough fighter in a very good era, but he was a horrible person that never took responsibility for his violent ways outside the ring. The Hurricane movie was total bull****. He killed those folks.

 

I wonder if this poster is buddy's with James the Harlem hammer Butler? I'm sure he didn't mean to hit Max Kellerman's brother in the head with a hammer multiple times. It also wasn't his fault that he burned down his apartment with zero regard for the other tenants in the building that could have burned to death. It was probably another conspiracy. Lol

 

I vote Qawi by stoppage. Foster was a great boxer but didn't have the chin to hold up to HWs or big hitters. Qawi's relentless aggression would catch up to Foster eventually. Qawi knew how to get under punches and get to the inside.

 

Yknow, if someone hit my brother in the head with a hammer multiple times, that's not a cold evil man. What a big personality!

 

Foster by 11th-13th round stoppage.

 

The Sheriff catches Qawi somewhere in the middle rounds and stops him. That jab would set up everything.
