Who is the most accomplished boxer with a losing record?

Should it count when a fighter carries on too long, and tarnishes their prime?

 

When I was first on this forum Jeff Clark had a losing record on boxrec.

Buck Smith was 183-20-2. Hardly a losing record. Honestly, one of the best records in modern history. (albeit most wins were over garbage)

 

Reggie Strickland could actually fight. There have been recent videos circulation about Jordan Grannum as well which I have enjoyed. The journeyman boxer is interesting and they often carry guys to wins. Demarcus Corley has an up-and-down record but he could give anyone hell on the right night.

 

I just came across a rare newspaper photo of Jim Barry. He looks Italian. I don't know his ethnicity (beyond american)

Well, a couple of cheat answers...

Paddy Ryan has a boxrec record of 0-2. Not sure how that is derived, as he is probably 8-2, but it's worth a shout.

Mike Weaver has a positive record, but he has one of the Freddy Pendalton records that is front-loaded and back-loaded with losses.

Cruiserweight champ Ricky Parkey, who I can't remember for the life of me but stumbled on while I was looking at Holyfield, went 22-20.
