There is no correct answer here. Even with solid technique there is always going to be a flaw to be exposed.

The most important thing is that the punch lands. Then, are you able to defend yourself after throwing the punch. And lastly, are you putting weight and your body into the punch.

I didn't see "heated" mild disagreement or at least the meeting of two different approaches

Honestly, I don't think either guy is right or wrong. There are multiple ways to teach and perform the same technique

Leaning more towards Frank as far as weight transfer/kinetic energy goes. But yeah, if however you're able to land a good punch works against a particular opponent, do that.

Both have their place. Frank throws it like Joe Louis taught it, Tony's leans more towards amateur system, especially with pendulum step. In and out sort of blow.

The one that lands, so either.

Seen near enough world champion level fighters who couldn't even throw their straight, straight they had to loop as an overhand which to me makes them a very flawed fighter then you have Fighters with great straights, down the line missiles with power but then useless with the jab.

I love Frank’s videos and generally subscribe to his school of boxing when it comes to technique. I’m hoping to get a session in with him in the winter.

Not just that, it’s more conducive to getting your head off the centre. Both have their place and both have their pros and cons.

I love both guys but Frank's technique is better.

If you want to follow up with a left hook, Frank's technique is a lot better.

Tony was basically saying both have their application the entire time... It's only Frank speaking as if his way is the best way...til the end of the video where he starts to let up a little.

Frank seems very dogmatic to me, and that might just be an act for social media, but I fundamentally disagree with this mentality as a fan, a former fighter, and a coach myself... How would the Ali, Roy Jones, and Pacquiaos' of the world done with a coach that's dogmatic in their teaching?
