If Joshua would gain ten pounds, it would help him.

    He trains too hard.

Joe Louis once attributed some of his longevity to the fact that Chappie Blackburn taught him that as a heavyweight ages, he should gain ten pounds. The power and chin go up.

Another example is Foreman. After the awful Qawi fight, he never came in under 240 again. He realized that he was never fast, and carrying a few extra pounds wasn't hurting him any.

Joshua is bit more complicated because his weight was all over the board when he was young. He was 250 for Wladdy, but 242 for Parker. Regardless, at 6'6", a 1-9 pound gain is nothing. He should try going up to 260, and no need to do it lifting weights and taking creatine. Go a little easier in the gym and let nature happen.

And as much as I hate to admit it, team Usyk are the wrong guys for him.

    Just a thought.

Adipose tissue signals estrogen hormone production which contrary to what most think is actually beneficial within a certain threshold. Helps with things like heart health, immune function, tissue repair etc. Guys that are ripped to the bone don't have the best longevity in sports. People who are slightly overweight live the longest too.

All that would achieve is slowing him down further imo, which probably isn't a great disadvantage to add when he's a glass cannon.

Idk, I think he should just hang them up at this point.

Glass Joshua is a China Chinned fighter. Nothing will ever change that.

is female longevity purely down to estrogen over testosterone? Or are there other factors? Genuinely curious.

Totally changed my mind. Fury can Chin AJ. AJ has no Chin. None. It’s completely gone and even a featherfisted fighter like Fury can KO him.

This was Dempsey/Firpo for the modern age. AJ's tenacity and skill will inspire poetry for generations.

If AJ had SLOWLY continued to add weight after 250lbs in his fight with Wlad - I think that would have suited his career.
He might not lose to Ruiz.
Adding weight is now a question mark.

Looks like Fury vs. Joshua is leaning back towards Fury again. After this weekend they both looked bad, but AJ's always apparent glass jaw looks like it would get exposed by Fury if/when they fight.

Doesn’t matter what weight Joshua comes in at, you can’t put muscles on a chin. lol the bodybuilder is finished!

Imho AJ should have been 251lbs for Parker, and then SLOWLY increased his weight throughout his career.
So it was in the career of Lennox Lewis, who had the highest weight in the fight with Vitali (heavier than Vitali).
