Neither Errol Spence Jr., Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua looked good in their fights over the weekend. In March of this year Nonito Donaire was beaten up and forced to quit and a month later essentially same thing happened to Juan Francisco Estrada. Nothing is particularly wrong with these results. All of these guys are older and, since the beginning of time, this is what happens when boxers get old. They get slower, they are more easily hit, and they are more easily hurt. They cannot take advantage of the flaws of their opponents the way they could when they were younger. I say all of this to point out how special it was that at the age of 46 Manny Pacquiao was able to come up with a well earned draw with a world champion after a four year layoff. It may not be up there with Ray Leonard coming back after three years to beat Marvin Hagler but, to be fair, Leonard was considerably younger than Pacquiao was. After the fight, there were a healthy amount of people on here giving credit to Manny but a lot of folks were instead talking about the qualities that Mario Barrios lacked. It is true that Mario is not the greatest champion in the world, but he’s a high-quality fighter. In retrospect after seeing the results of the last three or four months, I think what Manny did was rather amazing.
I want a mega match with Gervonta Davis I also think he's not going to be put out to pasture unless someone knocks him out. Wasn't satisfied with the Ugas fight. With Barrios scoring a 10-8 in Round 2. The judges gave Barrios 3 of the first 5 so it paints a more dominating picture. Turns 8-4 comeback into 10-2 near shutout. Delving into Barrios v Ugas because that fight is an outlier for his career.
