    I'm not sure if he's taken too many shots flush either. He has a tendency to ride them out quite well with that footwork

    AJ had him on wobby legs in their rematch. He recovered real quick though.

    Wilder has been reprimed. Fury, Usyk and Joshua have been unreprimedent.

    Watch it again. At no point is Usyk on even remotely wobbly legs or in any danger whatsoever of going down. It's a classic case of people being influenced by the commentary.

    What actually happened was AJ, due to frustration pushed down on the back of Usyk's neck and mind with his elbow and cracked him with a dirty shot (a rabbit shot) as he was doing so and then immediately unleashed a flurry on him as Usyk was unable to see them coming because his head had been pushed down and then AJ pounced on him with an onslaught while Usyk was trying to regroup. Usyk blocked, slipped or evaded most of his shots and was not on wobbly legs or discombobulatized at all

    They have to exaggerate how hurt Usyk was or make it seem like he had been hurt or was close to getting knocked down or out

    Here he is apparently close to being KO'd :lol:

    He's been caught clean far more than people realize but nothing happens. Briedis is a massive puncher and landed often but the shots just bounced off Usyk's noggin like frozen peas bouncing off a brick wall

    That was a great fight not so much a boxing match

    Reminds me of Fury in terms of defensive IQ. Even when Fury was being pinballed around the ring in round 9 of Usyk/Fury 1, for example, he managed to instinctively ride a lot of those shots and would have easily escaped that onslaught from anyone else other than Usyk himself, who was simply too quick and tenacious for Fury to get that space needed.

    In many of Usyks fights he tends to do the same. Even if a fighter does manage a clean shot, he is quickly in a position where a follow up is not feasible. What I wouldn't give to see a prime Usyk enter heavyweight because he would have been a marvel to witness.

    Yes. Either Usyk has the GOAT chin

    Is the GOAT defensive fighter

    Or he has a great chin and defence

    Yes, as discombobulatized as Belly was and as wobbly as his legs were he still had his defensive instincts and they saved him from getting flatlined

    Yeah, I really wish we got to see the WSB SHW Usyk at HW in the pros

    Don't forget that severely underrated power! I think if he really wanted to he would have had a much higher KO ratio at HW.

    Yes, he wasn't even trying to knockout some of the guys he fought. Gassiev and Glowacki immediately spring to mind

    Whereas horse-pushers Bellew, Dubios and Huck found out the hard way lol, but with Huck Usyk decided to drag out the punishment first (probably the most spiteful I've seen him in the ring too).

    :lol: Yes, Huck awoke Dark Usyk. Did Usyk want to get him out of there? For sure but that was secondary. He wanted to punish him slowly and painfully before doing so

    I think I made a thread about this. After his WSB performance I sort of wonder why his management didn’t think “get him in the weight room and go straight to HW”.

    he weighed in at what 205 and beat the pants off five legit superheavies in a row under pro rules. That should’ve answered any questions about “is he big enough” right there.
