Is Joshua-Fury still an intriguing fight as nobody is sure who has declined worse at this stage?

I take it that you mean “laying off” in terms of smack talk /mind games - yeah, I guess that’s a possibility but then it would be removing a strong and perhaps necessary personal ingredient for the successful promotion of the fight.

 

The funny this is, it's not even wrong. In their primes I can see Fury fighting as he did vs Wlad, winning comfortably on points, with AJ failing to drop him and gassed out at the end. Now, it's far more likely to be an early-mid round war, ending in a KO.

 

Fury isn't going to be "guilted" into not trolling AJ, the stakes are far too high and Fury does not care. After the Dubois-Wardley fight Fury was trolling AJ, calling him chinless. The car crash is irrelevant to him.

 

What I'm kind of interested in is the fight itself. The legacy historically meaningful element started to fade as the late 2010s passed.

What I really don't want to be bothered with is antics, negotiations sagas, and a long wait. Get it over and done with. With no rematches hopefully.

A dominant winner fighting a top 10 prime next generation name ... would be ideal but unlikely.

If it comes through fairly soon and in more of a sporting event mode than a social media drama mode ... cool

Wlad was wayyyy past prime and going through a breakup with his crazy ass preggo fiancé. Fury cherry picked the perfect time for the fight, then threw away years of his prime to duck the rematch. Pure cowardice.

 

I think its pretty clear that Joshua has declined more than Fury. His durability is totally gone. He might not even beat the Makhmudov Fury just beat at this point tbh.

 

Cherry-picked? Wlad was a unified champ and the top dog of the division. Who else was Fury supposed to fight at that time?

 

I think it's pretty obvious that in their primes, Fury wins 7-9 times out of 10.

I'm much more interested in the Itauma Hrgovic fight to be honest, but hopefully this one ends up being an unexpected if largely irrelevant classic.

 

So when Fury's wife has a miscarriage before a major fighg it isn't worth mentioning, but when Wlad's Hollywood skank wife is sad, that was why he lost the fight? And if Wlad is so mentally fragile, why didn't Wlad's father being on his deathbed cause him to lose focus in the Haye fight? And who chose to marry the Hollywood skank anyway? And Fury's "ducking" entailed becoming a 30 stone drug addict, what an amazing strategy.

Your excuses for champ Wlad getting schooled are sad and pathetic. He was simply not good enough, and then he fluffed it against a green AJ.

Fury vs Joshua, for me, has lost its lust. Waited to long, both guys had loses along the way, long stretches of inactivity. It fizzled out. The winner IMO shouldnt get an immediate title shot but rather would have to win 1 or 2 more. Enough with the gifts, got to win your fights

 

My wife pays for HBOMAX for access to some old sitcoms like Friends. She also pays for these AI drama slop apps (ugh). Point being, her monthly spend on random video entertainment is probably greater than DAZN ultimate, so she couldn't say anything, even if she wanted to.

 

The one thing Wilder was always good at was winning and each and every one of those wins caused you anguish because you so, so desperately wanted him to lose.

Wilder and Fury both live rent free in your head. Have done for years.

 

Honestly for me it's not a very interesting match because it comes so late. They are two very popular fighters, former world champions, both English, I understand there's a lot of talk about this fight, but for me, boxing today has (fortunately) much better to offer. On Saturday there's Roach-Zepeda, and, for me, that's much more interesting than Fury-Joshua.
