This coming Saturday August 1st for the vacant WBC Lightweight Title. It will be covered by DAZN.

    It's a good, competitive matchup.

    What is your prediction?

It'll be an interesting clash of styles. I think Zepeda's aggression and workrate will be outmatched by Roach's elusiveness and accuracy. I'm predicting a points victory for Roach.

I think Zepeda ends up edging it due to workrate but Roach will make it tough. Question is if Roach ends up getting beat convincingly this time or if he does more than enough to finally get a fair shake on the scorecards.

    Zepeda decision

You put Zepeda by KO twice in the poll

Not sure if that was intentional

I think if Pitbull gave Roach as much trouble as he did, then someone just as aggressive and probably more skilled in Zepeda is a bad style matchup for Roach. I have Zepeda by decision.

Unintentional. I can't remove it, but I've edited it to add Zepeda by decision.

Zepeda by decision. I thought Roach won his last two, but Zepeda did surprisingly good against Shakur and Roach isn't Shakur.

very interesting fight. Zepeda throws more volume than cruz but that also makes him easier to counter. Cruz has pretty good defense for a come forward flat footed fighter with no jab. So either the volume overwhelms him or roach takes advantage of more countering opportunities. Given that roach hasn't really shown any weaknesses regarding his chin and cardio and the fact that Zepeda doesn't seem to have much pop in his punches, I'd have to say roach edges it out like 7-5 which means he could get his 3rd draw in a row if he gets screwed by the judges like he did in the tank fight.

I think Zepedas work rate and buzz saw style will be too much for Roach to overcome in this one. Roach always gets pulled into a fire fight and that type of fight favors Zepeda going into the fight tommorow night. No fighter has really nullified his style before with pure boxing, I doubt Roach would be the one to do it.
