Has Zepeda improved since losing to Shakur and do you want to see them rematch?

What did you guys think of Zepeda’s performance overall? Do you think he’s improved a lot since the loss to Shakur or did Roach just have the right style for Zepeda? And based on how he looked against Roach do you think he has what it takes to avenge his lone loss to Shakur or would the results be the same?

I actually wouldn’t mind seeing a rematch down the road. Ideally if he ends up getting a unification bout with Raymond Muratalla and manages to beat him.

I don't really think he improved at all. He fought quite well like he did in the high majority of his fights before Shakur Steveson. It was simply Shakur's skill level that made Zepeda look less than he actually was. I would not necessarily mind a rematch. I just don’t think the outcome would be very different.

I don't think I'd wanna see a rematch. Shakur is levels above him. Will be the same outcome imo.

No rematch for me personally. I would rather see him against Tank, Abdullah or Foster.

Great performance by Zepeda last night but I never want to see Shakur fight anyone so no, I rather see Zepeda fight Tank.

Same exact fighter, he just fought against someone who benefits his style more. Roach is an extremely good inside fighter but he's **** on the outside and against someone who can "out-box" and throw volume and combination. If Zepeda had a rematch with Shakur, it would actually be even more lopsided than the first fight.

It’s not that I think Zepeda has necessarily improved
Styles make fights & Shakur is an other worldly boxing phenomenon.

that being said Roach is no slouch & Zepeda did have a great bounce back performance since fighting Shakur & Farmer.
He looked much better vs Roach.
    Zepeda is a proper champ.

I am still not sold because I have never rated Roach that high. He ate some nasty counter from Roach. Roach does not have power. His styles opens him to counter and if Zepeda eat those counters from someone ese and it could have been lights out.

fighters don't fight often enough for rematches to really be warranted unless special circumstances like a controversial decision or something similar.

he didnt need to use anything that might help him beat shakur. so i dont know if hes picked up the specific tool for the stevenson job. roach offered little movement and never contested the distance. let zepeda operate where he wanted.
i would like to see how he improved cutting off the ring and cutting off escape routes with hooks. i want to see him beat the initial punches guarding the outside. you cant let shakur snipe you, you have to force him to trade. and that requires pinning him and getting past his superior range. your work is on the inside at a high pace. you cant match shakur reflex for reflex., he will see your first couple of punches coming.

I think Zepeda is much improved to when he fought Shakur and probably SHakurs toughest fight to date he even mentioned it was the most sore he's been in a fight recently. Still think Shakur beat him but Zepeda is not far from being world class. He's gonna get caught that's his style and when you throw its bound to happen same way as pitbull Cruz except he is much better than Cruz. Even Roach said he was surprised by Zepeda's footwork and use of angles

No. Shakur is just that good. He knew exactly how to handle Zepeda. Smothered everything he tried by being right on him, and the few times Zepeda got him against the ropes and tried to unload, Shakur dodged and slipped everything.

I saw a good clip compilation of the fight highlighting how effective what Shakur did was. God damn he's good. Wish he wasn't a pissy primadonna. How a guy that good seems to find a reason to not fight is beyond me. He should be walking around like a giant swinging dick, challenging everybody around his weight.

Shakur said he learned a lot from sharing a ring with a slick God like Loma in sparring so why can't Zepeda have learned a lot from sharing a ring with Shakur?

Because he's a deep Mexican brother and they can only brawl, right? Stop being so narrow minded

They say the same about us Brits because we're iron-jawed and come to entertain and put on a show for the fans but truth be told we're the slickest boxers in the world when we want to be and it ain't close

“That was an amazing experience, me sparring with Lomachenko,” Stevenson said. “I’m blessed that I got that opportunity. I learned a lot of things. I picked up on little defensive tricks, little inside maneuvers. I learned a lot. I think that is gonna help me a lot.''
