I will give my top 10, but I don't have time now. P.S. if the topic goes well I will extend it through "Mount Rushmore HW wins of the 90s" P.S.S. "zeros" fell to Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis...
1. Douglas vs Tyson 2. Holyfield vs Tyson 1 3. McCall vs Lewis 1 4. Bowe vs Holyfield 1 5. Holyfield vs Bowe 2 6. Foreman vs Moorer 7. Moorer vs Holyfield 1 8. Bowe vs Holyfield 3 9. Holmes vs Mercer 10. Lewis vs Ruddock Honourable mentions. Holyfield/Moorer 2, Lewis/Golota, Ibeabuchi/Byrd, Bruno/McCall. Could be better but that's just a quick list to get us started.
A very decent list. You could argue that, as an outright win, Foreman beating Moorer should be in the top 3 (context of him being 45 and regaining the title 20 years later). That said, it probably should be around 6th if the performance is included. So many factors one might look at. I’d actually have Foreman-Moorer in 3rd and McCall-Lewis 1 in 6th. Taking nothing away from McCall’s win, but it was a pre-prime Lewis who hadn’t yet hooked up with Steward. All things considered, solid list.
My pleasure, I love the 90s. 1. Bowe-Holy 1 2. Holy - Tyson 1 3. Douglas - Tyson 4. Lewis- Ruddock 5. Holy- Moorer 2 6. Holy - Bowe 2 7. Bowe- Holy 3 8. Wlad- Schulz 9. Lewis- Holy 1 10. McCall - Lewis 1 Special distinction for Foreman-Moorer
1. Lewis—Holyfield 1 2. Bowe—Holyfield 2 3. Douglas—Tyson 4. Holyfield—Bowe 1 5. Holyfield—Tyson 1 6. Lewis—Holyfield 2 7. McCall—Lewis 8. Tyson—Ruddock II 9. Moorer—Holyfield 10. Tyson—Ruddock 1
Wouldn’t it be Moorer hate? I think Moorer would lose by knockout to every fighter I listed with the possible exception of Douglas (and yes he lost by knockout to Holyfield).
1. Douglas - Tyson 2. Bowe - Holyfield 1 3. McCall - Lewis 4. Holyfield - Bowe 2 5. Foreman - Moorer 6. Holyfield - Tyson 1 7. Lewis - Holyfield 1 (Lewis - Holyfield 2) 8. Moorer - Holyfield 1 9. Holyfield - Moorer 2 10. Holyfield - Douglas
if on the topic "Mount Rushmore HW wins 90s" the victory of Douglas over Tyson gets the most votes - I will start your statement.
I was also thinking about the Tua-Ruiz fight—that was really fast and brutal. But John wasn't well-known back then. Ike vs. Byrd, for sure; Byrd was in his prime at the time. Ike vs. Tua. And then there are Bent and Mercer, who beat Morrison. Come to think of it, Holmes beating Ray is a good one, too. It’s a tough choice.
