he’s just kind of stuck. A bit to small for HW for his style, scary as **** at CW to the point where nobody wants to fight him.

jai management needs to offer gassiev a ton of money and get him to fight jai for wba title thats one way jai could move to hw and pick up a belt. dont know how he does vs the other giants but its better then what hes doing now.

 

They stuffed up by joining Zuffa when Jai evidently wanted to unify titles. What did they think was gonna happen?

Pop I don't believe it's all despair regarding Jai.

To put things into context, I'm an Aussie, and when Jai was coming through the ranks I could see he was going places, then when he won the IBF first time I became the most keen towards an Aussie boxer since Kostya hung them up, and followed his career closely.

Moving on as a world champion, Jai handled anyone in front of him easily and his chameleon nature of fighting a different style each fight really emerged; but there was always a "better" opportunity for the other belt holders in his division, in fact Norair Mikaeljan and David Benavidez are the only two who have shown willingness, but Benavidez considers the IBF belt stripping a deal breaker. I believe this is far from an excuse to duck by David, he wants legacy just like Jai and I can't see him avoiding anyone who has something that gains him that.

With contemporary media, the real news is between the lines. There is a lot of noise around Benavidez/Opetaia, plus some around Opetaia/Mikaeljan, and Benavidez/Mikaeljan.

I interpret all that media ***** chatter as hyping up a superfight between Jai and David, but first Jai needs Norair's belt to go with the lineal one he's held for four years now, as per David's demand, "I ain't fightin' for no Zuffa belt!" Nor do I blame him.

I'm thinking we see Jai fight Mikaeljan later this year, and (if successful) Benavidez in the US on May 5th 2027. See if I read the news accurately.

 

If you knew what he was being paid, I doubt you'd have the same opinion. People like to point the finger at Zuffa. He was with Matchroom for an extended period of time. There's a reason or two he left for Zuffa.

 

He should fight Joseph Parker.
That's a perfect fight for both of them.
