Tyson did it the other way,he was in a position were he held the three main Belts WBC WBA IBF making himself universally recognised like you say as the Undisputed Champion of the Division but Spinks was the Lineal Title holder after his wins over Holmes, however that situation was soon sorted out once Spinks agreed to fight Tyson .

Thing is we'll still see AJ V Fury. Whereas, AJ V Wilder is long gone.

Its not anywhere as painful as not seeing Riddick Bowe fight Lennox Lewis.

fury & wilders jealousy of joshua & haymon sabotaged what shouldve been boxing real moment back in mainstream relevancy. they pissed off hundreds of millions and all lost in the end. should be a lesson for younger fighters.

    Turki came along too late.

So when Wilder was WBC Champion, Hearn is the reason he never fought Joshua, Usyk, Klitschko, Whyte, Ruiz, Povetkin, Pulev, Chisora, Parker, Zhang, Dubois, Wallin, Joyce, Wardley, Hrgovic, Miller, Hunter, Sanchez, Kabayel?

I totally get your point, and its a fair point. But why is the debate without nuance regarding these two? Both were protected entities (AJ and DW) in one way or another, both have accusations of ducking and a legacy that does not live up to the hype there was around their prime. Both Camps are guilty of not making this fight happen.

Wilder vs AJ could have led to a much needed resurgence of the sport in the US.

Maybe inspired other potential American HWs to follow Wilder's path from basketball to Boxing.

I'd have preferred prime AJ v prime Wilder from a stylistic point of view. I think the best Fury simply had too much for the best AJ. Other opinions, as ever, are available...

AJ v Wilder would have been an edge of the seat affair...with Wilder landing at some point to turn the big man's lights off. AJ is the better boxer of the two but this fight was always all wrong for him.

Wilder vs. Joshua would be a boxing treat for fans and a stylistically more interesting fight.

Prime Joshua would have demolished prime Wilder. Joshua vs Fury would have been the more interesting fight.

They all should've fought each other. None of them are good enough from a historical standpoint that they should've been able to just avoid each other (I don't care about which side or the reasoning).

Wilder/Joshua would've been a guaranteed potential knockout of the year type fight though

Wilder v Joshua would have been a great watch, prime Wilder landing Joshua's chin would have been very interesting
