The Moorer that fought Foreman and Holyfield?? I’m going with that Moorer by mid rounds stoppage.

I’d favour Witherspoon, but Moorer has the power to hurt Witherspoon and was more precise with his combinations than James ‘Bonecrusher’ Smith when finishing opponents.

There’d be an air of unpredictability early on, either guy could hurt eachother, but Witherspoon was probably more durable, had a better chin and stamina too and likely outlasts Moorer to stop him mid-late rounds, countering that jab more and more easily as Moorer wilts, getting inside easier and landing more often etc.

Witherspoon has the strength, durability and experience , whilst Moorer had the faster hands, movement and southpaw advantage.
I think Moorer starts fast ,wins the early rounds, but Witherspoon gradually gets to him and makes it a physical fight.
    Witherspoon by ko mid fight.

Versions discussions are going to be a killer here. You can really roll the dice. But for my money if the same fresh Spoon that challenged Holmes challenged the Foreman version of Moorer, I think he hurts Michael bad. He wouldn't do it when he was Foreman's age-not going to diminish that-but I do take him to lay some serious leather. Like Mistress Spanxalot levels of leather laying.

    Went with MM. Decison bout.

I think this would be a bout where Tim's corner does not help. Sure would have liked to seen the Witherspoon career if he was trained from day 1 by one of the greats still around at that time.

With that in mind, I do not think for a minute Witherspoon gets himself in top shape for a lh moving up. Plus, Steward is in the Moorer corner. Big big advantage in the pre fight preperations.

Moorer would just pepper away with those nice combos of his. Tim would throw that wide looping right hand of his and not go after him with his underrated and under used left hook.

So I would envision Tim dropping a decision to an opponent he should have and could have gotten the W against. But doesn't.

I agree with the last guy, Zadfrak. Moorer usually showed a serious will to win, which Witherspoon often didn’t. This might be like the Pinklon Thomas fight, with Timmy being out jabbed.

For me , it is about which Tim shows up. At his best, Witherspoon wins this fight, most likely by late KO. However, Tim was often not at his best so Best vs. Best I'll take Witherspoon but in a series of ten fights I would take Moorer 6-4 or 7-3.
