The ref of the Sweat Pea -Hurtado and Mercer- Morrison fights were terrible

Ike Williams stoppage of Beau Jack was absolutely painful to watch. Too many unnecessary punches to let it go on before the ref stepped in.

Dicky Eklund's barrage of punches on Alan Clarke was also very nasty.

The ref for Mercer - Morrison was also the ref for Cooney - Norton, which was just as brutal. I’m blanking on his name but he was terrible.

After he was clearly out, Ken Norton copped several more power punches from Cooney that could’ve caused permanent damage if not result in an actual, outright fatality.

Apologies Brian I missed you having already referenced Norton vs Cooney - a very scary KO.

Tony Perez was the referee in both Cooney/Norton and Morrison/Mercer.

Mike Tyson vs Lou Savarese lol.

In terms of what you actually mean, one that springs to mind that hasn’t been mentioned is Tua vs Ruiz.

Bruce Seldon took undo punishment from Tyson. That was very scary. Steele was asleep on the job.

Kirk Johnson threw a couple of punches (and landed one) after Maskaev was already knocked out cold. Not Johnson's fault at all. Maskaev was falling through the ropes.

After Patterson was “out” for all intents and purposes in Ingo 1, the ref allowed far too many more punches to be landed on Floyd before finally calling the fight and those punches included several foul shots to the back of the head.
