Walcott’s win percentage in fantasy fights on this forum is far better than his win percentage in real life.

My big question here is what kind of track record he had vs. decent southpaws. Some fighters who look great against a variety of other styles do not handle lefties well, so I’d want to know that before making a pick, and my knowledge of the era isn’t such that I can name any good southpaws from the time. (Were there any, and did he fight them?)

Folks always forget about the lack of southpaws in those era's. Some will say it doesn't matter but those that actually boxed, know it's a factor. Plus, Tarver is the bigger man. Sure he fought most of his career at 175 but he had to cut to get there and his natural weight is probably right around 200 pounds. At 6'2 he is a couple of inches taller and far better defensively. I'll take Tarver in this one.

 

This is a super great matchup. Don't know who would win but I like it.
