Great video as always Rummy. I'd be interested to see if working with Abel Sanchez helps Hrgovic look less like drunken robocop. While Itauma is the safe bet I have a weird feeling Hrgovic is going to surprise us all.
Great video Rummy. I think you're on the money here, maybe goes a little later but I'd be very surprised if Hrgovic gets stopped early in this one.
Well Quaz, I'd suggest you've asked more questions than you've answered here and we will have to wait for the bout to receive definitive answers. Because boxing is in an interim period, particularly the HW division, young exciting prospects like Itauma are receiving a lot of attention and keeping the hype merchants busy. Otherwise it's Fury, Wilder, Wach, Chisora, AJ and Oleksandr. Not really stirring the loins like they once did.
Great video Rummy. I don't know what to think of this one. On one hand, I will never, ever make Hrgovic the favorite of any fight, because it's shades of Michael Moorer in there with the lack of concentration and fire. There are going to be a few rounds that are just basically Itauma teeing off. And if becomes a simple question early on of if the chin holds up and the scar tissue doesn't burst. On the other hand, I don't see how people are so confident in Itauma. Yes, he's fast, he's powerful, he's got great ring intelligence. But he's never been past six. What if the chin does hold up? Ituama will slow down later in the fight, and Hrgovic will have his day. Don't know, but if Hrgovic manages to remember that he is in a fight for the first 4-5 rounds, and his chin holds, I wouldn't see it as a huge upset if he won.
I like Hyrgovic and think he's a problem for most of the division but I feel his lack of head movement is a problem for the speed, power, and footwork of Itauma. I'm really hoping Hyrgovic provides an answer on the Itauma stamina and chin questions but I feel like we are probably watching the emergence of a generational heavyweight in Itauma Itauma by 5th round stoppage.
Great video, Rummy! Everything is ready for Saturday—I’ve got the flag, and we have Croatian jerseys and beer. We’ll be cheering for Hrgovic right to the very end, and no matter the outcome, we’re proud of him.
Great as always Rummy! I'm hoping that we see the best Hrgovic that we've ever seen, because THIS is his BIG chance, no one really expects him to win, and all the talk is about what questions he can allow Itauma to answer (or not). All the notes on Hrgo you negative noted are 100% valid, but there's one I'd add that you didn't mention, and I think it's possibly a pivotal one in terms of whether we get a classic or Itauma blows him away; In many fights, El Animal can look disinterested, switches off for long stretches and generally doesn't seem to come in great shape. IF he can address those shortcomings and is focussed and working with his team on his obvious flaws and have gameplan for Itauma that he executes well it could be VERY interesting - I think a lot of the flaws that Hrgo exhibits in fights have been related to his mental state / mindset and NOT being fully "on it". I'm really hoping that he puts 100% into this one and we see a great fight - I still expect Itauma to win, but if Hrgo can bring his 110% best, then it could be a doozy
